Kovalam Restaurant is a restaurant in Al Karama, Dubai serving Indian, North Indian and South Indian. Known for Indian dishes; ideal for family meals and group outings.

We had lunch at Kovalam Restaurant in Dubai with a group of eight family members and friends, and it was a wonderful experience overall. We had pre-booked our table, which I would strongly recommend, as the restaurant tends to get quite busy.

The ambience was pleasant, and the seating was comfortable. One of the highlights was the freshness of the food—they offered an excellent selection of fresh fish, which we could personally choose and have prepared according to our taste. The dishes were well-cooked, flavorful, and rich in authentic Indian spices. Portions were generous, and the masala blends were especially impressive.

The washrooms were clean and well maintained, reflecting good hygiene standards.

In terms of service, the staff were courteous, attentive, and very helpful throughout our visit. While the prices are slightly on the higher side, they are quite reasonable considering the restaurant is part of a hotel and the quality of food and service provided.

I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a great seafood dining experience in Dubai.

It was a wonderful lunch today, on the 29th of December 2025, celebrating the 27th wedding anniversary of Mary Ann and Leslie, along with Janet and Gratian. The celebration took place at Kovalam Restaurant, a multi-cuisine restaurant located at the President Hotel in the Al-Karama neighborhood of Dubai, well known for its authentic South Indian and Kerala-style cuisine. The nearest and most convenient landmark is the ADCB Metro Station, Al-Karama, Dubai.

We had a truly memorable time with all our family members, enjoying delicious seafood platters, cocktails, and mocktails. The atmosphere was filled with laughter, cheerful gossip, picture-taking, and heartfelt moments as we came together to celebrate this special anniversary.

A heartfelt thank you to the Kovalam chefs for the wonderful food that beautifully enhanced the celebration. Do visit Kovalam Restaurant at the President Hotel for an authentic and delightful dining experience.

During my UAE trip, we also visited Kovalam Restaurant at President Hotel, Ground Floor, Trade Center Road, near ADCB Metro Station, Al Karama, Dubai for a team dinner, and it turned out to be a really memorable experience.

The restaurant has a classy and slightly upscale feel, but at the same time it’s comfortable and welcoming. The vibe was just right—not too loud, not too quiet—perfect for conversations, team bonding, and enjoying the meal without feeling rushed or disturbed. The overall ambience, lighting, and seating made it feel like a proper fine-dining experience.

We ordered a Non-Veg Special Platter, which was honestly huge and quite heavy. It was clearly meant for sharing, and once the contents and quantity were explained, the pricing made sense. Along with that, we ordered masala papads, one veg biryani, one non-veg biryani, and for dessert, a sizzling brownie, which was a great way to end the meal. We also had three rounds of Chivas Regal, which obviously pushed the bill higher.
The food was excellent—well-cooked, flavorful, and presented nicely. Everything tasted fresh and authentic.
Our server (sadly, I don’t remember the name) deserves a special mention. He was extremely professional, attentive, and perfectly on time with everything. Service like that really adds to the overall experience.
As expected from a place like this—and with alcohol included—the final bill came to 832 Dirhams. While it is on the expensive side, the food quality, service, and atmosphere make it worth it for occasions like team dinners or celebrations.

Parking is available, but since it’s a busy market area, empty spots can be limited. However, connectivity is excellent, as the restaurant is just a short walk from the metro station.

Overall, it was a great experience, and I would happily give Kovalam Restaurant a solid 5/5. Definitely a good place to visit in Dubai.

Went to Kovalam restaurant today for lunch. The place was buzzing with a lively and comfortable atmosphere. We had Squid Masala Fry, Prawn Pundi, Neer Dosa and Mutton Gassi. All were good and had that homely coastal touch. The portions were quite generous, and we realised we had ordered a bit too much for the two of us, even though we ate more than we normally do. The Prawn Pundi could have been a bit better, and there was a slight delay in serving the food, likely because it was a busy Sunday with many guests around. Overall, it was a pleasant experience and definitely worth trying. I’ll surely visit again to explore more dishes as the menu has quite a few interesting options.

Had a horrible service and food yesterday at Kovalam. I came to treat my family, and my parents are vegetarian. Before coming there, we had called and asked repeatedly if thali and vegetarian options were available, and they had assured us there were. However when we reached, somehow everything was sold out??. Then, when we asked for further vegetarian options, they kept on aggressively pushing us veg and non veg starters, despite us telling them we were not interested.  Then, the food came after 45 minutes, completely cold. It was so cold, we had to ask that the parotta had to be reheated, so they heated it for 2 minutes in the microwave, making it completely inedible. On top of that, the paneer portions were laughable with only 2 big pieces and huge piece of uncooked potato in between for some reason. The parotta was very poor quality, I am sure it was not even made in the restaurant and naan came burnt. My parents left hungry, and that really disheartened  me. Don't come to this restaurant if you have anyone vegetarian on your table.

Such an amazing ambience…..a really good date night spot. Also great with family.
The service was friendly.
Food was good…..however, I’d just be mindful if ordering steak as ours was too well done for our liking.
Otherwise, everything was fantastic.

Exceptional Hospitality by Swagath at Kovalam!
I visited Kovalam Restaurant in Al Karama on 15th February 2026, and I must highlight the incredible service provided by Swagath. From the moment we were seated, Swagath’s hospitality truly stood out, making our dining experience seamless and memorable.
Swagath was incredibly attentive, professional, and had an impressive knowledge of the menu. He provided excellent recommendations, ensuring we tried the most authentic flavors of Kerala and Mangalore. His warm and friendly demeanor made us feel right at home.
The food was, as always, delicious—we especially enjoyed the Mutton Khichdi and Threaded Chicken, which were served hot and fresh thanks to the efficient service. If you're visiting Kovalam, I highly recommend asking for Swagath to ensure your meal is as enjoyable as ours was!

We come to this place almost every weekend and the staff here is always pleasant and helpful. The food is just amazing and the king fish tawa masala is a must try if ur a spice fan. The cherry on the cake is the service by their manager Mr Munees who always recommends great food that never disappoints. Great place for friends family and everyone ☺️
