Loads of calories, soul-satisfying chocolate!
24 Jul, 2019 by Manish MenghaniLove chocolate? Love chocolate-based desserts? Thinking of a Hot Chocolate Fondant already? You are in the right place. Here are some of the finest places to go and gorge on some outstanding Chocolate desserts in Pune. The great idea of a good Chocolate Pie or a chocolate dessert starts with good chocolate and it is great to see restaurants in Pune dish out some of the finest in those terms.
Drunken Volcano Cake at Harry's Bar & Kitchen, Koregaon Park, Pune
The totally apt name describes this one perfectly! The Chocolate Cake is served hot and it takes about 25 minutes to be on the table, the time is every minute worth it. The ‘drunken’ in the cake is actually dark rum and what can get better when it comes to a good pairing with chocolate? The Hot Chocolate Cake is served with a scoop of Vanilla Icecream, something classic and familiar and much really needed with that chocolate volcano on the plate!

Donuts at Café Peter
There are over 5 types of Chocolate Donuts on the counter every day, the ones we love are the Dark Chocolate Truffle Donut and the Milk Chocolate Ganache Donut. If you love white chocolate, you will love the Mango and White Chocolate Donut that is quite sweet for my liking though. All the Truffle and Ganache based Donuts get sold out pretty easy and early, so make sure you are here before evening to make the best out of it.

Decadent Chocolate Mud Pie at The Rooftop Project, MG Road, Pune
As the name suggests, it is pretty much decadent and the whole idea of a good Chocolate Ganache with some crumbly pastry base is something you will love. It is served along with some chocolate crumble on the plate that adds to the decadence of it I guess? Mainly, it is the chocolate ganache that is quite nice and rich overall.

Valrhona Chocolate Tart at Santé Spa Cuisine, SUNDERBAN RESORT & SPA
Last on the list but it may be very well the first one on your list to try it out. They make the Chocolate Tart with some of the finest chocolate available from Valrhona. It is over 60% dark and this is in fact, not dark but bittersweet chocolate. If this was not enough, the dessert has been toned down in terms of gluten and low calories from the Ragi flour Crust that it gets. A really nice take on what a classic Chocolate Tart is but it has been totally revisited and made top-notch!

Textures of Chocolate at Pandora - Gastronomy & Bar, Yerawada, Pune
This is one of the nicest looking chocolate desserts in the city. The plate comes with Chocolate Ganache, paired with some Almond Crumble, Tempered Chocolate Ganache and some Chocolate Mousse. It is quite true to what they say and it looks quite stellar too. To complement the Dark Chocolate, they also have some White Chocolate Cigars and garnish amidst everything on the plate that adds some sweetness. (refer cover image)
