Shamiana, The Taj Mahal Palace Hotel, Mumbai - The restaurant at The Taj Mahal Palace hotel is hosting a lovely Parsi themed brunch for Navoze on 21st March 2020 which has almost become an annual affair. The brunch is a lavish one with a long list of Parsi culinary hits including dishes like Patra ni Macchi, Salli Boti, Kolmi no Patio, Mutton Pulao as well as an Akuri Bar serving various types of Akuri. You can find traditional Parsi desserts like Lagan nu Custard and Mawa nu Boi among others. To mix it up, they are even serving some classic Continental dishes that community loves like Roasted Ham Leg making it a feast fit for a king and worthy of a Navroze celebration.
Bombay Vintage, Colaba, South Mumbai - This restaurant focuses on the plethora of fantastic regional Indian cuisines and on their regular menu, have some lovely Parsi dishes. This season, they are going a step further by taking guests on a special Parsi cultural heritage walk that ends with a hefty Parsi set Thali meal. Dishes like Prawn Patio, Jardaloo Salli Boti, Russian Chicken Croquettes and a special Navroze Falooda among others. This walk and brunch will take place on Sunday 22nd March 2020.
The Sassy Spoon, Nariman Point, South Mumbai - There is a special Parsi Menu at the restaurant from 16th March until 5th April 2020 that includes some incredible dishes. The uniqueness here is that some of these recipes are contributed by their loyal Parsi clientele who have shared their family secret recipes. From Saas ni Macchi with Khichadi, Mutton Berry Pulao with Kachumbar and Sagan no Ravo; this is a feast for anyone who wants to indulge in a Parsi meal.
Jumjoji, The Orb, Andheri East - Most Parsi restaurants are found in a cluster in South Mumbai, so for the first time, the suburbs can boast of a beautiful restaurant dedicated to Parsi cuisine. The ambience is far more elegant than the usual Irani cafes and the menu more elaborate. Think Chicken Farcha, Salli Murghi, Salli Ghost, Mutton Pulao Dal and plenty of other favourites.
Gallops, Mahalaxmi, South Mumbai - This lovely restaurant at the Race Course is known for their epic Indian and old school Continental fare but not many know how outstanding their Parsi food is. They are celebrating from 11th March until 25th March 2020 with their Jamva Chalo Ji special menu. With dishes like Navsari ni Boi ( local fish sourced from Gujarat ), Aflatoon Akuri - a decadent dish for egg lovers or even Topli Nu Paneer, which is ricotta like smooth cottage cheese dumplings floating in a salted brine which are slightly more traditional and often skipped in commercial restaurants but relished by the community. Interestingly there is a fabulous Vegetarian menu as well despite being such a meat-heavy cuisine with dishes like Patra ni Paneer, Mock Kheema and a secret Dhansak Dal.
