These trendy restaurants are some of the best culinary experiences in Mumbai currently.

The Monsoon has arrived in full force and has created havoc within the city. Despite the unpredictable weather, it has not dampened the spirit of the city and folks are still eagerly getting out to enjoy their meals. With a whole crop of new restaurants that have recently launched, who can blame them? Mumbai likes to eat out and experiment, and, these five new restaurants in Mumbai are giving diners plenty of choices. Here are our current favourite picks.

Dirty Buns, Lower Parel, South Mumbai - Chef Boo Kim has a stint in the city a while ago but has returned to give us a restaurant dedicated to triple your carb intake. From buns and baos, almost everything on this menu comes between bread but it is so well that all the extra calories are forgiven. The focus is on the rolls and baos ( don't miss the Lobster Roll ) but they have got a fabulous bar full of interesting drinks and a sinful dessert menu.

Ishaara, Lower Parel, South Mumbai - Not only is the food wonderful at this newly launched Indian restaurant but it is unique because the entire staff that waits on you has a speech and hearing impediment. The menu has corresponding gestures in sign to help the staff to understand your order. Dishes from all across the country make an appearance like Bhutte Ka Khees or even Undhiyu and Rogan Josh. For good old fashioned Indian food without any twists tweaks or pretence, this is the restaurant to visit.

Happy Thai, Worli, South Mumbai - While the name says Thai, this new restaurant at Atria Mall in Worli serves both Thai dishes as well as Japanese ones. It is casual dining with plenty of comfort food. Warm bowls of popular Thai curry and steaming plates of Pad Thai Noodles to Sushi and more Japanese style Curry with Katsu. The food is good but the portions are a tad bit conservative specially for the price they charge but a fun spot for a meal out with friends.

Younion, Lower Parel, South Mumbai (refer cover image) - This is not the place to visit for a quiet intimate meal. It is loud, it is fun and it is in your face. The vibe here is more of a bar than a restaurant but it has got comfy couch like tables as well. The idea is to celebrate with good food, drinks and music. Perfect for a night out with friends and a spot that gets crowded on the weekends. The menu is a mix of favourites and comfort food from Burgers and all-day Breakfast to Momos and Maggi. It has got a slight Social hangover, so if you are a fan of any of the social outlets, you will enjoy Younion.

The Boston Butt, Pali Hill, Bandra West, Western Suburbs - This new restaurant is a meat lover's paradise. Known for their grills and various cuts of meat, expect rich hearty food here. 7 Hour Smoked Pork Ribs, Charcuterie Boards with Aged Pepperoni and thick chunky Steaks are just some of the favourites of this meaty menu. That does not mean there is not anything for the vegetarians, it is just that if you eat meat you will enjoy this place more.
