What Majnu ka Tila has in store for you

Majnu ka Tila (MKT) is an ever popular place when it comes to reasonable Tibetan food. The pricing is genuine, the food is delicious. Sometimes known as little Tibet, this place is only a rickshaw ride away from Delhi University. So we tell you what to look forward to, when you come here, to mini Dharamsala!

Tee Dee Restaurant

A very popular restaurant here, take your pick from the basic momos, or try the ‘’Shabalay’’ which is like a stuffed samosa. For a hot treat, try the Thentuk which is extremely nourishing and light. Tingmo is a fermented bread which is dipped in soup or had with something spicy. Pair your food with some good old apple beer and your meal is complete.

Ama Café

One of our favourites! Those Tibetan scripts on the walls and handicrafts are just lovely. Enjoy your favourite book with a mud cake and some Oreo shake! Sounds perfect already? These people also do great iced teas and have an array of delectable coffees to choose from. You could also head here for some good homely breakfast which will not be heavy on the pocket either. Again, what are you waiting for?

Rigo Restaurant

One of those gems in MKT, choose anything from the menu, you just do not stand disappointed. It is the most popular here, and their devil chicken momos and double fried pork are to die for. They also have North Indian on their menu, and we’re impressed by how the menu is in Hindi too! Affordable again, they offer good mocktails as well. Give it a shot already!

Wongdhen House Hotel

Talking of inexpensive food, what if we tell you that you can enjoy a wholesome and delicious meal, all under 300 bucks? Wongdhen is apparently the oldest Tibetan restaurant around this place, and the service is amazing. Besides Tibetan, they do good Chinese food too. We also suggest their Gyakho soup, which serves around 4 pm. Try try.

Ama Thakali

We suggest this place for an experience you won’t forget. Not a lot of places in Delhi that offer a good Nepali thali for minimal pricing! A soothing environment and decent food, head to Ama for a thali that is enough for a voracious eater because it is unlimited. A simple menu does not bring down the quality and taste of the items present. Experiment with your dinner plans this time!
