It is so easy to give into temptation and devour a burger or a slice of pizza. Restaurant menus make it difficult to try and stick to a healthy diet. Well, most of them do. Some go out of their way to tailor their menus in such a way that it includes a perfect mix of dishes that are as healthy as they are tasty. It is not an easy task, but there are some restaurants that have come out shining with their healthy menus. These are some of our favourite picks!
The Yoga House – Just by the name of this little café, you can tell right away that they lean towards a healthy meal choice. Not only is this a very pretty space that makes you feel calm and relaxed with their green walls, white décor and simple potted plants, but the menu is also an exceptionally curated one, with plenty of healthy choices. From Ayurvedic oat porridge, their signature Quinoa Burger, and their gluten-free cookies to even their flavoured almond milk, there is a lot of healthy choices on this menu that are actually worth having.
Bowl Bar – This is the brainchild of Marissa Bronfman, who has come up with a purely vegan venture that she currently retails at the restaurant Eat Thai in Mumbai. Just because it is vegan does not mean that it is flavourless. In fact, you probably would not even know the dishes were vegan unless you were told. Currently, the bowls are chia seed puddings with fruit and are clearly very popular. If you have caved and enjoyed a rather heavy meal at Eat Thai, then you can end it on a healthier note with Bowl Bar.
Bombay Salad Company – This is more of a salad bar that has become so popular with its trendy menu and relaxed ambience. Although it is a very small space and often crowded with no free tables, its healthy but delicious menu of salads, wraps, sandwiches and juices is a rage. So much so that people stop by and pick up their meals because it is just that good!
Gostana – This is the perfect neighbourhood café that makes you feel relaxed and at ease. It is also extremely pet-friendly, and Apple, the resident lab, is about the friendliest thing you will ever meet. Gostana has mastered the art of a healthy yet delicious menu that includes their signature burgers with a whole wheat or multigrain bun and even some healthier patties like the soy bean or the seven pulses burger. They also, surprisingly, do a steamed version of chicken nuggets along with salads, juices, smoothies and sandwiches.
