There are a lot of propositions on who actually invented Margarita and whether it is a Mexican drink or not. One of the most popular stories on Margarita is when in the early 1930's Carlos Danny Herrera, owner of Tijuana restaurant Rancho La Gloria had invented the drink. One of his regular customers was allergic to all alcohol except tequila which again she cannot have straight. Danny, worked up a tequila shot to make the first-ever Margarita. This was not the end and over the years lots of other claims have floated up to claim the inventor Margarita.
