Located at the entrance of a Mandrem Village Resort, on the pristine sands of Mandrem beach is a bistro with an earthy feel and ‘openness’, that is inviting to one and all. Welcome to Boonies- a bistro concept that serves a crisp well-planned menu, ranging from soups and salads to well portioned main course delicacies. The Chef is creative by starting you off with the 'Tandoori Mushroom Soup', frothy and flavoursome with a hint of tandoori masala laced with mushrooms that hit one's palate. For a little extra zing, the 'Potato Wasabi Soup' is best chased down with a 'Pomegranate Martini' from the bar. The salads are a vegetarian lovers delight with the 'Compressed Watermelon Salad' topped with arugula, feta pomegranate and molasses. For a starter to go along with the drinks served, try the 'Bellpepper & Jalapeno Croquettes' and over to the mains has the 'Belgian Pork Belly' - 12-hour sous vide pork belly served with potatoes, zucchini, green pea mash and red wine sauce.
Another restaurant has opened in the place of boonies. The food and drink were good and tiramisu from the bakery was yum
if you're over curry and want to eat something a little more fancy then this place is good but is also more expensive than other places. in saying that though it is super tasty and the staff are really friendly. there's board games on the tables too which is fun.
Great place to unwind and meet friends over drinks. Well curated menu serving food using fresh ingredients which they grow in their organic garden.
Boonies, what a find! The resident mixologist, Dev, who has extensive experience, invents amazing cocktails if you ask. One of the cocktails I tried had a base of Sweet Basil, in another one he used his own infusion of coriander. The food is outstanding too. I ordered a Mediterranean mezze platter which was as good as or better than I’ve had in Greece and Crete. Be sure to try the desserts. The mango panna cotta is fabulous.
