The Oak Barrel

You don’t have to drive around searching for some eatery that is ready to cater you after 11 pm but save yourself the effort and take yourself to the bustling lanes of Panjim, where the restaurant is located. The Oak Barrel will do very nicely with its pleasing vibe and pocket-friendly prices. Parking is limited, find a spot by the lane. The restaurant is not too difficult to find. It’s located near the Miramar circle in Panjim and spans across two floors. It remains open well up until 1 am, feel free to drop in.

Get yourself hooked on Asian flavors at The Oak Barrel. Menu travels all over Asia focusing not only on Chinese cuisine but on other Asian regions as well. Prices are pretty moderate so we ask you to indulge freely. There is enough variety to impress you. Their food menu is backed by a full-fledged bar selection as well. Dive straightaway into the menu with an assortment of appetizers like, tempura vegetables uramaki, honey chilli lotus stem, Hunan style lamb, crabmeat inferno, corn & water chestnut dumpling, Vietnamese summer rolls, nigiri sushi, green philly maki, kung fu tofu, Taipei style chicken, water chestnut in chilli plum sauce and XO prawns. Main course is an exciting amalgamation of, stir-fried lamb chops, yakuza teriyaki chicken, Thai green curry, California roll uramaki, wok tossed snapper in black pepper sauce, colonel mustard fish and char sui pork ribs.

Polish off the mains with the help of aromatic rice & noodles. Sticky jasmine rice or chilli garlic noodles will do fabulously. Ambience is great for small cozy dinners or even for late night bite stop. Décor is pretty standard. All the attention is paid to the bar, which instantly attracts your attention the moment you step through the door. Rest of the restaurant is comfortable if not striking. The Oak Barrel presents a dark toned furnishing with use of charcoal hues. During the day, the restaurant seems much more airy and appealing. Could be a great spot for a nice fulfilling lunch after a morning at the beach. Ambience remains casual and chilled out.
