A shack on the main road is the best way to describe Pavilion in the heart of Benaulim. The red attracts you as one passes by and the ambience within is soothing and homely. The menu caters to the Indian palate and there is something for everyone. Start off with the Shrimp and Crab Salad and the Greek salad is interesting as it is crunchy for the herbivore diner. The Avocado salad is refreshing and quite unique. In a non-air-conditioned environment with a shack feel, sip on some of their coolers and try the Prawns Stuffed Papad and the Crab Meat Balls. Tasty flavours emerge and it is well cooked. They have a wide variety of fresh seafood so ask the server for the catch of the day. The Stuffed Mushrooms and the Beef Boti Kebab were unique and scrumptious showcasing their strength in Indian cuisine. With Goan, Continental and Chinese options to choose from this place is a one stop shop for every member of the family or friends to visit and have a jolly good time.
I ate here three or four times during my stay in Goa simply because they had a varied menu, good hospitable service and a good wifi service which was free to use and the prices were very good as well. The staff never hurried you whether you were just having a drink or a meal. Admittedly the place can be a little noisy being open to the main road but the hygiene seemed good and the tables were always cleaned down after each customer. The lime sodas were excellent at only 40 rupees as was the Dum Aloo Bananasai. If you go for the fish and chips it is not the battered fish that you may be used to in the west but it is very palatable anyway. If I'm in the area again I will not hesitate to have lunch or dinner here because it is generally good value for money.
I came to know about this restaurant thru Groupon. This was my first visit to this restaurant and I must admit that The Pavilion Cafe is the best place to dine specially if the person is from North India. I can bet that home food will not be missed at all. I went with my family and tried all popular dishes including Butter Chicken, Aloo with tomato gravy, yellow dal, malai kofta and chicken biryani. My rating for this restaurant is 10/10
We had lunch once at Pavillion during our stay at Sinquerim beach during second week of April 2014. The staff is very hospitable and understanding. They served Jain food for my wife and kid as requested. Food quality and hygiene are commendable.
ordered a steak here and it was too salty. the calamari stuffed was dry. service is just ok. there are much better options around here
The Pavillion is now called Food Land. Thje food is first class, staff excellent and ambience fine (given it's on the main road next to Ruffells). Ate there a few time over the 6 weeks and was never dissapointed. Cheap and basic but good. Prices excellent.
