Buona Dolce literally means “Good Sweets” in Italian. The Jubilee Hills Road number 36 outlet has limited seating for only around 10 people and is known for its gelatos. The gelatos are made at the small enclosure attached to the shop, and this Jubilee Hills branch is the hub for supplying to their other outlet in Secunderabad. All their products are completely vegetarian. The outlet has some unusual items in its gelato range including 'Baklava', 'Amarena' (an Italian cherry) and 'Cheesecake'. The fruit gelatos like 'Chiku', 'Kala Jamun' and 'Kiwi' and their 'Lemon Sorbet' deserve a mention too. For diabetics, they have some sugar free gelatos to be tried out. Among their other products, the grilled sandwiches are good here too, the 'Tandoori Paneer Sandwich' being my particular favourite. Pastries, waffles and milkshakes also feature on their menu. But, it is mainly the gelatos which this place is known for.
#FoodShaukeen #BuonaDolce Hyderabad has fell in love with Gelatos and is very much evident with new stores popping up in this category recently and are doing great. One such place - Buona Dolce has started its operations recently in Jubilee Hills with number of variants that will give you a tough to choose from. With an urabane setup which can accomodate about 30 people seated, this place not just serves Gelatos but Waffles, shakes and sorbets too. Dessert parlors were never about space anyway. People never hesitated standing in queue or eating this heavenly dish standing out and chilling with family/friends. Well, speaking about their varieties - they have close to 100 variants which change on rotational basis with about 30-40 varities on display. What did I like? Richness of their gelato can be felt in every flavor (whether the flavor did justice, is secondary) and is priced per gram ( with min of 1 rupee per gram and max of 1.1). Seven dreams - a new variant that I havent come across at any other Gelato places is made up of 7 layers which has nocciolissima ( a strong extract of hazelnut spread) and litle version of hazelnut too. One who enjoys hazelnut would love this. Their bestseller Amarena Crock ( Amarena is a bitter cherry available in Italy ) , again a new flavor you wouldn't come across in any other Gelato outlets, is an absolute winner in taste and richness. Baklava came out as a pick for me, if I have to eat a whole scoop of it - that good it was, another winning pick in their lengthy list. Kala jamoon and lemon in sorbets did justice to flavor and were good. Quality of waffle was real good and went very well with their gelatos. There are couple of variants that dint do justice to their name of the lot that I have tried - wild berry cheesecake, neither the texture nor the taste is close to it, reason? They had to use local cheese due to unavailability of philadelphia cheese at the time of prepartion of the lot we tried. Their Pistachio was very mild and wasnt any great. This place definitely has a potential to be one of the best in the market with the quality they offer, given they maintain the consistency and their serving staff knows what they are serving (given the extensive range and few different names , customers tend to ask what is best and what is what).
Buona Dolce is a relatively new place in town serving some brilliant gelatos, ice cream cakes and lot's more. Located in Jubilee Hills, the place is beautifully done and has a feel-good vibe about it. Their desserts are produced on site, are as fresh as they can possibly be and are gorgeously tasty too.
