New-age dhabas, which offer a taste of the rustic spunk of the legendary dhabas but in the comfort of air conditioning, are quite the rage these days. This Jubilee Hills outlet is a swankier iteration of the President Dhaba from Madhapur. Sit on a charpoy if you want, but you also have the option of the more comfortable table and chair. The food covers a far wider territory than a typical Punjabi Dhaba. Besides extensive Oriental options, you can also relish South Indian favourites such as 'Chicken Ghee Roast', 'Nizami Mutton', and 'Dum Ka Murgh'. Even the Punjabi dishes are modified beyond recognition to suit the local palate. The 'Dilwala Butter Chicken' has none of the rich tomato taste you would expect in a Butter Chicken, and is instead loaded with red chilli powder. The kitchen is competent and the food doesn’t taste bad. Just do not expect authenticity. This outlet also boasts of a liquor license and offers a decent selection of classic cocktails. Besides the regular fare, there is a small selection of ‘Fata Fat’ bar nibbles. The desi style 'French Fries' here are excellent but stay away from the Kheema add-on that does little to justify the premium.
