We received a warm welcome from the new owners. The Tennant Arms sits in the middle of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The surrounding countryside is stunning and perfect for walkers, cyclists and fishermen. Our room was warm, comfortable and had everything we needed and our bathroom was luxurious. There was an extensive breakfast menu which set us up for the day! The bar area was inviting with a traditional stone floor, log fire and great cask beers. We are looking forward to our next visit and to seeing the results of the refurbishment in January.
Visited yesterday with my wife, daughter and two labradors, great welcome and then a long walk up to the top of the fell behind the pup. Back to a roaring open fire, a pint of Wainwright’s local brew and fantastic G n T selections for the girls, dogs crashed on the immaculate stone floors in front of the fire. Unfortunately we couldn’t stay longer as we had a dinner to attend back in Bradford. We will be back soon. Welcome to this stunning part of “God’s Own County” The Garland-Jones family and the best of luck in the future!!!
Recently stayed here for a weekend get away. Was told over the phone that food wasn’t available as it had recently changed hands and the kitchen was getting refurbished. After speaking to the new owner I can’t wait for it to fully open and I’ve already made a booking to come back and try the food. Beautiful clean and comfy rooms and a stunning breakfast in a stunning room! Don’t read into the old reviews about the previous owners, as things are changed dramatically. Can’t wait to return to sample the food! See you soon!
Please ignore the bad reviews of this place! It is a Fantastic hotel since it has been taken over, friendly staff, welcoming atmosphere, and plenty of drink choices in the pub. Really looking forward to returning when the restaurant fully opens shortly. Thank you and keep it up!!
We arrived on Friday welcomed and advised another £57 to pay for our dogs and breakfast. I did not question and was happy to hand my card over. Our first room was dirty and smelly. I asked if we could be moved. Second room was better but a very dirty smell but I suppose with it being dog friendly you have to expect a little odour. Happy to have a few drinks in the bar watching the log fire. Our dogs were very happy. Unfortunately I could not but overhear the conversation between the bar staff and locals. Basically the landlord and partner was leaving due to being slaughtered by comments put on trip advisor. He found that these were not a true reflection of their hotel. I did feel quite sorry for them as they had been very accommodating. That is where it ends! We assumed that breakfast would be served up to 10am NO it was 800am. We were not advised this when we booked in not was there any time on their reception desk advising this. So I politely asked for a refund of £19. I then got a barrage of abuse from the guy who had been behind the previous evening calling his previous guests. I told him that no one had advised of the time and I was not prepared to hand over £19. Chris the owner was called and a card transaction I thought was made back to my debit card. Needless to say I have NOT received a credit back to my account. Well all I can say is what goes around comes around... you will get what you deserve and please do not go into hospitality again as you have no idea of the meaning of the word. Enjoy my £19...yes £19!!!!!
