Stepping into The Nukkad feels like walking into someone’s home – peaceful and welcoming. In spite of being situated on the busy PG Road, The Nukkad feels isolated from the bustle of the city. Nukkad’s gastronomic effort won’t win any awards, but it’s the kind of dependable, no-nonsense restaurant that I would love to have in my neighbourhood. While North Indian cuisine is known for its lavish use of spices, Nukkad also amps up the heat to cater to Hyderabad’s palate. The Sindhi colony neighbourhood has a significant population of vegetarians and is far removed from the new culinary hotspots of the city. The impact of location is evident on Nukkad, which has stopped serving mutton dishes since not many people order meat. Chicken is still being served; however, it is not of the best quality and feels gamey. A selection of finger food, sandwich, pizza, and pasta has also been introduced to supplement the North Indian grub.
