Spread over three floors plus a terrace, this is food plaza with an old world charm. Shiny marble stairs with golden brass planters lined up, dark wooden hand rails; everything takes you back to the past. Even though each floor has a different named restaurant, now they have merged the menus for all. Want to have a quiet meal with your close one or a team outing with your office gang, this is the place to be. Over the years they have maintained the consistency of relatively good food in all cuisines. The signature Elaichi Raan is so tender and smoky in flavour; every bite of it takes you to heaven. It is a must order dish and is very popular amongst the regulars. Different kababs, Masala Kulcha, Grilled Bhekti, Grilled Lamb Chops along with a fairly decent spirits menu, makes it a go-to place for many in the area.
This place has great food and service. It’s very clean too. The kabobs are tasty and very tender. Good drinks list too.
Good restaurant with smooth service and well prepared dishes. Ask to be seated on the rooftop. The main restaurant is more for families and rather noisy.
Visited during my visit to kolkatta. The location is bit on the inner lane. Its a complete food plaza had gone to O’ Calcutta for having lunch. The food quantity is good, however was looking for more option for traditional bengali food. The taste of food is just average. Felt overall price to be on higher side. Order mutton jhol which suppose to have gravy, but gravy was very little to have rice. As a side item ordered maach kosa for which would say quantity was ok but taste below average. Overall ambience ok, but price on higher side
We visited on Navami Puja night - three of us. There was a big rush, so we had to wait for 15 minutes in spite of pre-booking. We ordered one each of soup, cocktail, mocktail, a starter, and a plate of Elaichi Ran. One plate of Elaichi Ran was enough for us. The dishes were quite good. The cocktail was not mixed properly - perhaps because of the rush. For dessert we had Lassi and Coke. Bill was about Rs. 2000. It was a good experience and they have a very wide variety of food on offer.
This is a 4 story restaurant with a rooftop. Full bar and multiple cuisines. We were a group of 3 and had drinks and finger foods. The shredded fried chicken was super spicy and delicious. The service was very good. The ambiance was decent. They also have parking and a elevator. It's right behind the Columbia Asia hospital and next to the Carnival cinemas. If you are staying at a hotel in the Salt Lake area and want to try a place popular with locals, then It's worth a trip.
An old-fashioned sprawling restaurant spanning across three floors and a terrace, Abcos Food Plaza is a hidden gem of Kolkata. Its vast space usually invites people in large groups but couples too enjoy this place, especially because of its lovely terrace area. Abcos Food Plaza keeps a lavish multi-cuisine menu, which is the backbone of the restaurant. Elaichi Raan is something of a must try. If on a date on for a Special Occasion, ask to be seated in the terrace area amongst the lush greenery. In the evening with few drinks, Abcos will do very nicely.
