It is right behind city centre I and most people confuse this place with the deli. This has a quiet and neat sit down cafe cum dining look and feel. Large windows overlooking a lush green lawn creates a vibrant energy. The menu is a selected choice of continental classics, some home grown creations and fusion from around the world. As the name suggests, they have a short but potent assortment of crepes in both sweet and savoury, even though the savoury ones appealed to me more. 'Crepe Coq Au Vin' is beautifully prepared small pieces of chicken cubes in the typical coq au vin sauce and stuffed in thin and light crepe; an absolute delight and a must-try.
Hadn't been aware of this place but my cousin who lives nearby is a regular here. So we decided to meet here for a quick bite and a leisurely chat. She said it provides a booth-like sitting arrangement with comfortable sofa. She was right. The staff is extremely polite, and knowledgeable too. When we ordered a dish that had bacon in it they crosschecked with us if we were OK with it! I appreciate this. And they kept an unobtrusive eye on us filling our glasses just when needed without us having to ask. They recognized my cousin as a regular and wished us politely saying they hoped to see me as a regular return customer too...the behavior was warmly welcoming...not in your face. We ordered Fish and chips along with Roast chicken with bechamel sauce. Both were great...but the Fish and chips may have a slight edge...the Tartare sauce was the freshest I have had in any restaurant in a long, long while. Ended with caramel pudding...Ah! it was like a childhood dream reincarnated on the plate...but I did not need the sugar pastilles (batasha-like) too sweet. ...and Assam tea (tea bag). The ambiance is good. Music is subdued so we could talk..and the pace is unhurried. They happily delayed serving dessert....unthinkable in most eateries where the waiters hover over you ready to snatch your plate the moment you pay. The place had a nice turnover of guests but it never got very crowded...what a blessing. Ambiance is nice...loved the quirky photos on the wall. Bottom line: Filling food like Biryani maynot be on the menu but what they serve is equally tasty and servings are adequate to allow generous sharing between two people...and that is how I have rated the Fish and chips above (by a hair) the roast chicken. Costs? I donot know what my cousin applied..some code... so the Chicken roast was not billed to us...the rest cost less than INR 1000 which is unbelievable...even without that the bill would have come to maybe INR 1500 for two people who walked out replete. Good Job, Creperie!
It was a catch up with old buddies of college along with lunch in a quiet Sunday - since we started early by 1:15 pm it wasn't crowded enough. We had ordered Fish Sizzler, Crepe Coq Au Vin & Chicken Stroganoff along with Mojito & masala cola & all items were great.
Pros 1. Location, prime yet very peaceful 2. Ambience is great. Staff is courteous.high end restaurant ambience has been maintained 3. Food quality n taste is good. Coms; 1. Quantity: very less quantity specially for sizzler.
It's a little off the main mall and could be a little hard to locate it the first time. Ambience is impressive, very contemporary look to it. Like the food and the presentation. Multiple visits to the cafe and looking forward to visit again.
Great place to have a cup of coffee with your loved ones. Comfortable sitting area. Love there garlic toast and cold coffee. Reasonably priced.
