The all-day coffee shop at the Kenilworth Hotel, Aromas, is a well-appointed outfit, with contemporary, practical interiors (the bright red and yellow seating perks up the otherwise plain interiors) and a decidedly laid back ambience. The multicuisine menu, short and crisp, is far from adventurous and banks on popular classics. Your best bet here are the buffet spreads (served for lunch and dinner), a good value option to explore what is on offer.
If one is in pursuit of resplendent elegance, placid atmosphere and an old fashioned charm; Aromas is an ideal place for him to consider. Its decent and graceful décor with vivid red and beige seats in contrast to the cream pastel walls completes the perfect picture. The sophisticated dark wooden furniture with white marble table top adds a classic touch to this exquisite dining house. There is an option of outdoor sitting where one can enjoy the cool breeze of Kolkata while viewing the serene, luxurious green lawns. There is a separate area for the buffet with a spread of wide-ranging mouth-watering recipes. Located at the upmarket Kenilworth Hotels in the Little Russel Street on the prominent Theatre Road of Kolkata, it is one of the best fine dining restaurants in town. It offers some extremely delectable North Indian, Chinese and Continental preparations. It has a well stocked bar providing all kinds of alcoholic and non-alcoholic concoctions. Nowadays, this eternal grace is missing in the fast paced contemporary dining places. Pricewise, this eating house is a little exorbitantly charged, the approximate cost of a meal for 2 persons comes out to Rs. 1900/- but every penny spent is worth. It is open for services from 7am to 11pm everyday.
The signature dishes of Aromas are: Oven Roasted Tomato Soup, Fish Kebab, Tandoori Jhinga, Golden Fried Prawns, Panco Fish Fingers, Baked Fish, Mexican Chicken Quesadillas, Pan Seared Bhetki, Pasta, Veg & Cheese Casserole, Roast Chicken, Stir Fried Greens Tofu & Cashewnuts. The dessert options are also diverse: Malai Chomchom, Baked Rasmalai, Fudge Brownie, Baked Blueberry Cheesecake to name a few. Coming to drinks, the Scotch whisky and Margherita are really refreshing.
The servers at Aromas along with the other staff are really hospitable and courteous. They make the diners feel very comfortable and guide them through the extensive menu. There is a wide variety of services offered like home delivery, live sports on big screens, access to wheelchair, valet parking, Wi-Fi and separate smoking area. In the wake of the high demand that this upscale restaurant-bar has, it is prudent to visit this venue only after making table reservations. Otherwise, one would have to wait in the long queue.
