Kosha manghso is so ingrained in the veins of all Bengalis, that when Golbari, the famous kosha mangsho place shut down temporarily, some of the let down cooks were brought in to start this chain as a tribute to kosha mangsho. This one is at the very busy Park Street area and has a 2 floor seating option, with the décor reminiscing old Bengal in all its glory with its arts and culture. The menu is very crisp and clear with not too many items creating confusion. Try their famous kosha mangsho with luchi or echor kalia with ghee bhaat or mochar ghonto or any of the dishes from a assortment of fish; the food essentially tastes quite good, not too rich and quite balanced in flavours.
Visit was solo as m the only person in my family who loves Bengali food must say it was worth visiting Koshe kosha tried Bengali Thank with Chicken, fish and Plenty more items... The experience was Awesome will be back again.
Was at the Ripon street outlet as i was in a mood to indulge in local food. Idea was to have bhetki paturi but that was not available. Ordered pomfret bhapa instead which was not too much to my liking. The beguni was nice but the posto bora was avoidable for me. The fish fry was really good and went well with my favorite accompaniment - Kasundi. Overall an average meal as i have had much better stuff in the city.
I came here with a large group of friends one weekday evening and the food was really good. We had a Bengali friend with us, so he helped us choose traditional dishes and they were very tasty. Despite the size of the group, our food all came out together and was hot. Atmosphere was good, but could have done with some background music. The decor is nice.
I Visit this restaurant every time i can when i'm in kolkata, It has the best fish food i have tasted. Must try the chingri malai curry with rice- nice coconut flavour gravy with prawn. Pre booking is recommended in busy hours. Must try and you'll fall in love
Cutlets, prawns, aaloo poshto, dal, loochi - too good. Service was spectacular. I will definitely come here again and again
