This restaurant has been quietly and consistently dishing out superlative Punjabi food for over six years, and has built a cult following of sorts. It started out as an inconspicuous takeaway joint in an equally inconspicuous neighbourhood in late 2008. Bow, it is an 85-cover restaurant, spread over two floors and those in the know do not mind a ride across the city to eat here. The menu is a rich assortment of curries, breads and tandoor specialties. Most people drop by for the excellent kababs (try their murgh lasooni kabab, a fiercely guarded recipe). Their star dish and a constant bestseller is the Mutton Adrak ke Panje – succulent goat ribs flavoured with ginger and chargrilled. Plus, the breads are fantastic – the Kabuli naan with its nutty crust with hints of caramelised sugar is a brilliant pick for mopping up the rich gravies. There is no dessert on the menu, but you will perhaps be too full anyway.
