The Coastal Macha is a small and fuss free restaurant in the posh locality of Southern Avenue. Although it has the entire clichéd interior associated with coastal cuisine, like vibrant blue colours, sea shells, sand etc etc; all that doesn’t matter since the food stands out undeniably. The food literally performs a song and dance inside the mouth, be it the Prawn sukka or the kothu paratha or mutton pepper fry. You will get all kinds of fish fries in masala or rava fry from the local favourite beckti to mackerel or pomfret and the seafood is exceptionally fresh in taste. And although they do have a small north Indian menu, I would say give it a pass and dive into the sea.
Awesome range of menu starting from Coastal south Indian food & also Oriental selection. service veg, chicken, mutton , & Seafood. The staffs are very polite and efficient however not very comfortable with the menu . The taste and the use of ingredient is good. The portion is a little less except the meals . The decor is nice and compliments the theme. Over good experience
We were a group of about 12 friends who went to celebrate a birthday. The host made us very comfortable and service was excellent with very attentive staff. The food is marvellous and fresh. We had squids which were fresh and very delicious. Appams were served hot. The rates were also reasonable and want to go back again.
We ordered the Malabar Biriyani, prawns and bhekti, and washed them down with kokum coolers. It was certainly one of the best meals in the city.
Recently relocated, it can be a bit hard to find. Small, friendly place with the owner chef in attendance.Tried the crab, fish and mutton. All good. Excellent value.Happy to recommend to others.
Had dinner here on a Sunday evening. Tawa pomfret for starters, followed by Ghee Roast, Coorgi chicken masala and Malabar paratha. The food was Excellent, especially the Coorgi Chicken Masala.
