Hands down it is one of the best places to have a good Japanese meal in the city. The Fatty Bao has quickly caught up with the food lovers in Kolkata. A modern oriental ambience with beautiful paper lanterns strung up origami, a glass facade overlooking the city structures; it is an idyllic setting for a dining experience. Perfectly rolled up sushi, soft bao with brilliant fillings, ramen bowls, delicate dimsums, refreshing salads; the menu is pleasing to all. 'Char Siu Bao' with a pork belly in a sticky bbq sauce, green apple kimchi is a nice soft yet crunchy dish. The sweetness from the sauce along with the salty pork and sour green apple kimchi hits all the flavour notes perfectly. The 'Ramen Bowls' are great main course options especially the 'Chasu Ramen' cooked in a salty and deep pork stock. The curries stand out in flavour and stir-fried spinach and mushroom sticky 'Jasmine Rice' is a dish in itself.
