Orchid is the multi cuisine restaurant of Fortune Pandiyan hotel. It has both indoor and outdoor dining as well. Both buffet & Ala carte are available. Lots of options for Buffet breakfast.

We went on 24th December of 2025. For the europe to Asia themed buffet service. We were told this is special themed menu for this year's Christmas and New year.

We are really discontent and unhappy with the quility of food and service. It's not worth the price tag they are charging. Which comes to more than 2000₹ per person with taxes.

* If I'm talking to the service staff in tamil. They can reply in tamil. I don't mind you talking in English but most of staffs English is bad. The important aspect of communication is listening and then replying. But they start talking even before we finish asking the question. So please tell the staff to listen and then answer.
* Now coming to the staffs or chef's in the live counters. Some of them were really nice, but some were really bad. For example the chef at the dosa counter acted as if I was asking him to make me 100th dosa or something. AND PLS I WANT TO STRSS THIS POINT, ASK THESE LIVE COUNTER STAFFS TO BE CLEAN. I ASKED FOR A EGG DOSA. HE USED HIS BARE HAND TO SPREAD THE EGG. THE ISSUE I HAVE HERE IS HE WASHED HIS HAND ON A DIRTY WATER WHICH THEY KEEP IN THE COUNTER. THEY USE THIS WATER TO CLEAN THE THE TAWA IN BETWEEN, WASH THEIR HANDS THE WHOLE EVENING, AND FOR ANY FORM OF CLEANING THAT THEY DO. JUST UNDERSTAND EVERYTIME YOU DIP YOUR HANDS IN THAT WATER TO CLEAN IT GETS DIRTY MORE. AND THE BRUSH THEY USE TO WIPE THE TAWA CLEAN INBETWEEN, IT LOOKED LIKE ITS BEEN. BROUGHT DIRECTLY FROM THE BATHROOM OR SOMETHING. MY GOD. IT WAS HORRIBLE.

* The food quality is ok. I wouldn't call is bad but it's not worth the price tag that they are charging.

* There was live music, the band was ok. But it's was too loud and a small suggestion, please select some nice melodious songs for the evening set up.

All in all the concept was nice, the ambiance was nice. Let down by the way the service staff work and the ok food quality.

Anyhow hope they change and be a bit responsible. And hopefully this review helps. I have only mentioned few important things we experienced. I think this the longest review I have written. I'm upset to that extent.

I would give less than a star if that was an option available.
We went for a dinner buffet and the food was not only cold but also the speed of service was unbelievably slow.
We asked for soup and it came to our table after we finished appetizers and went for the  main course..
We had to ask for hot water twice and had to remind the staff multiple times.
The food quality was poor, in the sense some of the items were too salty and some had no taste at all.
In the end, we asked for ice-cream, and they were literally scrapping the bottom of the tray to serve one portion. Later we had to wait for .ore than 15-20 minutes just for ice-cream and when it came it was totally thawed.
The only item in the menu which was tasty and worth the visit was the curd rice. ?
We were amazed to see such a poor quality of food and service from a star restaurant.
We would definitely not recommend this restaurant to our friends and family.
