A Chinese restaurant that is well priced and offers you a wonderful meal is not as common as you would think. China Bistro offers good quality Chinese fare at reasonable rates making it a good choice for a meal out with the family. No fancy decor here, but simple tasteful wooden furniture and comfortable sofa like seating. The menu has a range of dishes giving diners ample choice. While the focus is Chinese cuisine, like most places they also include popular dishes from other Asian cuisines like their 'Khao Suey' and 'Thai Curry' which are very popular. The restaurant also has a limited section of Japanese sushi to offer.
I am truly struggling with this review. It is a family favorite but I was there yesterday afternoon and this was the poorest service I have seen. The good: the place is clean and well decorated. Seating is plentiful and very good. Reservations are accepted but if we had just walked in (Seven of us) we would have been fine. The food is very good, hot and delicious. Very flavorful and well prepared. Great location, easy to find. The bad: The service was truly appalling. The service staff were in a bad mood, our server clearly did not want to be at work. We were there for a 1:30 lunch and they were so incredibly slow (we have never seen it this bad). We had to ask for every item and need two to three times before we got any service. The food items came out very slowly and the buffet was mostly empty by the time we got up for food. It is almost like they were not expecting more guests. Once they did realize that there were more customers, it seemed like the kitchen started cooking again and the food came out, but it was very slow. Again I write this as a big fan of the Resturant. Yesterday was just a very poor service day. I have to be truthful with the review. My family eats there all the time and they were appalled at the poor service.
we were there yesterday afternoon, and it was a treat to be there. the food and service was excellent, the iinovative ideas of serving and food presentation were so good, that I will go back again. excellent.
The best budget Asian lunch buffet. Amazing starters served at the table. 5-6 options for the non-veg. Main course also has 4-5 options, but dessert options are limited. Overall good value at 600 pp on a weekday.
Try the vegetarian pot rice !! It is absolutely delicious and filling ! Thumbs up for the peach iced tea, virgin mojito and in the warm drinks - do try the green tea, very refreshing.
China Bistro at Chembur will set you back ₹500 if you’re a vegetarian and ₹600 if you’re a non vegetarian. We were welcomed with peach iced tea and virgin mojito both of which tasted super refreshing. You can ask for their starters to be served at the table. We munched on hot and crispy spring rolls and sautéed vegetables. There is a wide variety of options that you can ask for. There is also an option you build your own salad. For main course we got ourselves some Noodles with Green Thai Curry and Stew Vegetables and Fried Rice with some Munchurain Gravy and Munchurian Balls. Both these dishes were warm flavourful and well cooked and we’re super grateful that it was an eat all you can. We also ate some vegetarian sushi from the buffet section. The best part about China Bistro is the dessert counter. China Bistro is known for their majestic Chocolate Fountain, yes you heard it right. We tried the honey crispy noodles, the caramel pudding, the strawberry cheesecake, the plain cakes and fruit. They also offer three flavours of ice cream namely Chocolate, Strawberry and Vanilla. Feel free to pour as much Chocolate as you want from the Fountain because calories don’t count in a Buffet. Overall the whole experience of dining at China Bistro made us feel like this is a steal deal. You get a lot value for your money. The staff is welcoming and the place is always brimming with people having a great time. We suggest you reserve a table in advance because China Bistro is packed during lunch time.
From the fragrant fertile land of Asia emerged a cuisine so fantastic that today it rules the hearts of millions of foodies all over the world. Pan Asian cuisine is known for its aromatic humble quality of food that relies heavily on natural integrity of ingredients. No spices or culinary gimmicks are used to uplift the cuisine, rather the focus remains on using every ingredient the best productive way. There are uncountable Pan Asian restaurants in Mumbai, some small some fancy, but each dedicated towards exploring this wonderful cuisine extensively. Even out of so many eateries Mumbai has a favourite. Lovingly called ‘China Bistro’, the restaurant is a popular haunt for Asian food lovers and families, who consider a visit to China Bistro almost a beloved tradition. The place is always busy and bustling with hungry noisy diners.
The name China Bistro is deceptive as the menu of this eatery is not just limited to fare of China but of Thailand, Japan, Korea, Indonesia and Vietnam as well. The desi version of Chinese cuisine is something to definitely look into. For moderate prices one can enjoy a scrumptious generous feast at China Bistro. Opt for their buffet spread, its everything you imagine it to be. Ask for a beer or a glass of your preferred cocktail to accompany the first course. Eat, barbeque pickled bao, vegetable chive dim sum, crackling spinach, fire roasted mandarin chicken and java grilled fish with sambal salsa. Dig into the main course of, vegetables in Thai herbs, fish fillet in soya & ginger, Singapore crab, Thai green curry, hot basil lobster, stir-fried pak choi with pickled ginger and Tsing Hoi chicken.
The variety is immense and completely drool-worthy. If there is one thing we assure you is that you won’t be lacking in choices. Even the final sweet course is just as fantastic. Indulge in, chocolate tsunami, darsaan, coconut caramel custard, hot chocolate rolls with ice-cream, caramel sponge cake with toffee sauce, brownie with ice-cream and steamed coconut dumpling with honey butter sauce. The interiors of China Bistro are tailor-made for families, with spacious roomy dining room and long formal tables to easily seat a group of ten. Life size terracotta warrior, art frames and Chinese medallions bring in the oriental factor. The restaurant looks good and is tastefully decorated so that it exudes elegance and subtle class.
