What use to be the popular 'Mela' restaurant on the corner of Worli has now become China Bistro. Step inside and you feel like you are walking through a corridor to get to the main restaurant. Rather oddly shaped but plenty of space and you realize how big it is inside. There isn't anything cafe or bistro-like with this space. Generic decor that adorns most Chinese restaurants with a statue of what is presumably a terracotta warrior at the entrance and little Oriental painting and knick knacks all over. The food has its hits and misses but the emphasis here is on their pricing. It is value for money decent Indo-Chinese fare and pleasant service that leaves you satisfied at the end of a meal.
This place has been on my top list since quite a long time. Love everything about this place. Their food, their ambience, their service. Must try their chinese buffet, its very good.
We all friends tried non veg and it was a good taste, no matter the starter or main course, place was good though.
I have only visited their worli outlet and I have always found their staff to be a little gloomy and dull. Though no complaints with the food what-so-ever. One should definitely try their honey noodles with vanilla ice cream Ps- they have a chocolate fountain as a part of their lunch buffet. :)
Don't waste any time and just head to this place for their awesome Chinese buffet.they have some lip smacking starters (fish and chicken and paneer) main course is good especially loved the Thai curry. Desserts were again amazing. Absolutely worth the price. Beware!! Their ala carte menu is expensive. But a great place to have Chinese . Highly recommended for their lunch buffet
This is a very large with simple decor but good range of pan Asian food. We were a large group of cousins meeting after long. The private dining area offered us space to have some loud and animated conversation. We got complimentary drinks courtesy Easy Diner app. The mango papdi was really good. We enjoyed the lemon coriander soup We had a large range of starters and dimsums. The best was the Pomfret fish in a tangy sauce. Rounded up the dinner with pad Thai noodles. We'll go back for the Sunday lunch buffet we heard is really great.
You know it?s all right with the world when your favourite cuisine comes to your neighbourhood. Similar thing happened to me when Chinese food became my next door salvation. Mumbai is a humongous city and it takes one considerable amount of time to reach anywhere in the city especially when one is short on time and peckish. So I was very glad that a great Chinese eatery opened in my neighbourhood. I simply pop in anytime for my noodle fix and carry some home too. Like me, ?China Bistro? in Worli has come to the rescue of many foodies living in the vicinity through its comforting food and wonderful location. What used to be ?Mela? restaurant has now become our favourite China Bistro. The restaurant is always busy throughout the week, better to call ahead.
The name China Bistro is self-explanatory. The menu encompasses the delights of Chinese food, but there is more to China Bistro. Chinese is not the only cuisine which is targeted here, rather the menu includes other Asian fares as well such as, Thai, Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean and Indonesian. It?s recommended to visit China Bistro with an appetite so one can try little bit of everything. The menu is moderately priced too, indulge freely. Although they offer a full-fledged bar menu, its best to ask for their mocktails. Maybe a mango colada or cucumber wasabi cooler. Munch on, chicken basil dumplings, crispy lotus steam, barbequed bao, keong?s chilli chicken, vegetable tempura and steamed crab claws. Enjoy China Bistro even more with the main course featuring, assorted vegetables in mountain chilli sauce, Tsing Hoi chicken, pomfret in Sichuan sauce and roast lamb in mahlak sauce.
Finish this Asian journey with some exotic sweets. China Bistro serves a lovely dessert selection like, darsaan, chocolate tsunami, coconut caramel custard, Thai guava ice-cream, hot chocolate rolls with ice-cream, steamed coconut dumplings with honey butter sauce, brownie with ice-cream and caramel sponge cake with toffee sauce. As you step into China Bistro, you are met with a duo of fierce looking terracotta warriors guarding their emperor right at the entrance. Inside the room is brightly lit and stylishly furnished. True to the Asian heritage, the room is divided into cosy nooks with lattice screens. Seating style is formal to make your dining experience comfortable. A quaint outdoor section beckons the diners on breezy evenings.
