Farzi Café is another genius eatery from Massive Restaurants. The space is quite large with dark dim interiors and a rather long bar completely stocked with excellent bar tenders that churn out drinks all night long. The menu is quite extensive, featuring interesting dishes including hoppers, burgers and plenty others, but the focus is primarily Indian food or what they seem to be known for, Progressive Indian Food.
We just had 3 starters at this place but the staff courtesy and food presentation appealed to be in a big way. One tip to get a good deal would be to book through dineout in which you get few bonus jp miles and complimentary drinks per person. However, you need to book this atleast one hour in advance. The daal chawal starter is a must try. It's rolled into a ball filled with cheese and tastes yum!
I had taken the EazyDiner coupon which entitled a complimentary mocktail or cocktail for each diner. The waiter informed us that we could order any mocktail or cocktail from the drinks menu, which we did. After some time, another waiter informed us that we could only order a mojito or a pina colada for cocktails and mocktails and there was a mistake made by the first waiter. EazyDiner should keep the restaurants informed about the choices, so that this mistake is not repeated. Also, I have eaten at Farzi Cafe outlets in Phoenix Mills and Oberoi Mall. At both these locations, they gave us palette cleansers after the starters (before the main course starts) and also, the pan filled snow candies at the end of our meal. These were not offered to us at Lower Parel and we had to ask for them and only then they were provided. Not done! Overall, the food was delicious!
Please go and self experience the devastated group bookings, and food service... As the name is Farzi...so is the food and the service commitments a really awesome "Fake"
Good ambience, good food, good people, good price. Amazing drinks, night life, a great place for party.
Farzi at Lower parel is surprisingly quite big when it comes to space but fails to impress on their decor. I found their interior designer was seriously overpaid for the job. Now coming to food which was well presented and bit expensive for the portion served. All though the options are quite interesting it doesn't really hold your attention for long. Finally the hospitality was great and we were well looked upon. My visit to this place on a weekday afternoon could be a big reason for their undivided attention.
Indian food in India is no longer about bowls of curries and baskets of flatbreads. It has undergone a lot of change and has taken a more modernized avatar by the playful creativity of the chefs. The genius part of this progressive Indian food is the unique combination of ingredients and the playful take on the preparation by the chefs. From the brilliant innovative mind of famous restauranteur Zorawar Kalra comes one more remarkable name ‘Farzi Café’ in efforts of globalizing Indian cuisine. He takes the outstanding legacy of his father Jiggs Kalra forward by coming up with his wonderful restaurant Farzi Café that now has outlets in various different cities. The Farzi Café mania has reached the fancy part of Mumbai at Kamala Mills in Lower Parel.
Farzi Café experiments with Modern Indian cuisine and popularises it by serving in an innovative eye-catching manner. No boring old-fashioned platters for you here! Expect to sigh over Edison bulbs, trays of dry ice fumes, banta bottles and funky looking crockery. The food itself is something of a revelation and catches your eye instantly the moment it reaches your table. While you enjoy your drinks nibble on few appetizers such as, Bombay bhel version 2.0, Bhatti ka murg, keema kulcha, chilly duck samosa, smoked bacon & pyaz ki kachori, palak paneer quesadilla, amritsari fish n chips, tempura fried prawns, tandoori margherita kulcha, karela calamari and chicken lollipop 65. Follow the delicious first course with a flavourful second with, chilli chicken bun, Malaya prawns hoppers, tandoori guchchi risotto, baked eggs curry, prawn chettinad, banarasi pukhtaan curry and slow cooked baby lamb shanks.
Wash it all down with a nice bottle of red or couple of their molecular shots. Dessert section deserves some attention so it’s recommended to save some space for it. Indulge in chocolate dirt pile, bailey’s lollipop, ras malai tres leches, warm suji halwa and parle g cheesecake. Interiors of Farzi Café are quite spacious and dark. During day the space is flooded by sunlight but in the evenings the whole tempo changes and the place becomes more dimly lit. You will notice latticed walls and ceiling with a polished dark brown floor to match. Furniture is casual and simple, consisting of some light-weight chairs and couple of cosy booths. The ambience is hip, casual and stylish.
