Entering this old-fashioned restaurant is almost like stepping back in time. The outdated décor and dull vibe are not just the least inviting, but the warm service staff who ushers you in, make up for it. The menu boasts of dishes of the days of yore - Indian, Chinese and Continental with several classics too. There are a fair amount of vegetarian options as well across cuisines. The breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets here are the raison d'etre of this place. The bar menu offers spirits, wines and cocktails. Non-vegetarians must-try the 'Eggs Florentine', 'Chicken Imperial', 'Pomfret Doria' and 'Prawns Meuniere', from the a la carte menu. The 'Paneer Shashlik Gourmet Sizzler' is popular. The quality of the food is good, but the flavours mediocre. The buffet offers a fairly limited variety but is value for money. The rest of the food on the menu is surprisingly overpriced. Desserts are uninspiring. The service is unobtrusive but prompt and the staff courteous.
Excellent Breakfast and Service. Nostalgic Feel. Must Visit ! for the Old World charm and 60's feeling !
The Gourmet still holds an old world charm it had 30+ years ago. This place serves one of the best buffets for breakfast, lunch and dinner and is real value for money. The fish fillets with tarter sauce are the best here!
Had the dinner buffet @ The Gourment for a fabulous price of Rs 500 + Tax, I must say the food quality was excellent , the buffet spread isn't to much but it isn't to less either, One can have a wholesome meal and enjoy each and every dish kept in the buffet, I am a non-vegetarian so I was super happy with the fried Fillet Fish (Fresh Basa well cooked), the cold cuts ( Salami and Sausages) and two types of chicken main course dishes, lots of other veg food too, I must say the Cream of Chicken Soup is one of the best iv had. 3 Types of desserts included in the buffet price. The ambiance is nice and quiet and the staff and service is very good. I love going there and enjoying my meal. Overall I was very happy and satisfied with the buffet and you can go there with friend or family.
We have been visiting this restaurant for their VFM buffets at lunch and dinner. We have never tried their breakfast though. The chicken cold cuts for starters and soups [veg and non-veg] are a treat. Main course chicken, mutton and regular fish fillets are in my opinion quite repetitive. They could try some more varieties.Vegetarians also can have a good choice of varied styles. Desserts are fairly decent. All in all a good experience at Rs.550/- A.I. The ambience and service are very good. A visit will not be disappointng for sure..
Ideally located, nice ambience, variety of delicacies, courteous staff and prompt service is the speciality.
