An entry into this place transports you to the opulence and splendour of bygone days. Robust Indian food with a special focus on North Indian and Mughlai dishes is what this place offers. Apart from an À la carte menu, there is a host of set menus for those who want to sample the varied fare. Chef Yunus Khan’s mastery over his food is evident from the dishes served here. Carefully selected spices, herbs and roots are what he makes use of in his cuisine, along with slow-cooking techniques, to impart the requisite flavours and textures. Awadhi Seekh and Shahi Gilawat Kabab, are not-to-be-missed. Raan-e-Sikandari is cooked to perfection and an absolute treat. The Warqi paratha pairs well with the Awadhi Murgh and Lehsooni Dal Tadka. The Gosht Awadhi Biryani is aromatic, well-spiced and the lamb pieces, tender and melt-in-the-mouth. The food is not heavy to the extent that it causes discomfort. Among desserts, the slow-cooked Mirchi Ka Halwa boasts of exquisite flavours and is a must try, while the Shahi Tukda is pure indulgence. The staff is warm and polite and the service, aptly relaxed, to enable you to enjoy your meal at a leisurely pace.
