Coming from the stable of The Bombay Canteen team, naturally, the expectations are high and O Pedro lives up to these effortlessly. The cheerful décor comprising indoor plants, muted colours and cane chairs, is exceedingly Portuguese-esque and beckons you instantly. The vibe is invigorating and the staff friendly. The attractive bar spells bonhomie and is apt for relaxing and enjoying a drink. The menu has been inspired by the Catholic, Hindu Saraswat and Portuguese cuisines of Goa. The core remains authentic but it is the inventive twist which makes the food even more endearing to the palate. 'Raw Papaya Kiss-Mur' and 'Kal-Chi Kodi Devilled Eggs' are innovative and delightful. The spices are palpable, the ingredients distinctive and the flavours familiar, yet, with elements of surprise. The 'Vegetarian Saraswat Tondak Curry' boasts of heart-warming flavours. Quarter-plates, half-plates and full-plate portions here are apt and allow diners to share. For dessert, try 'Aunty Li’s Serradura'. There is a separate vegetarian menu available . The service is efficient and the staff is articulate and well-informed.
