With its yellow and orange walls, brown furnishings and fun menu, Sammy Sosa is a hot favourite for many. The Tex Mex still remains the most popular choice with the 'Sammy Tostadas' being a hot seller. It is a mountain of nachos that are loaded with olives, jalapenos, Mexican beans, cheese, fresh salsa and sour cream. This massive dish is perfect to share with friends over a round of beers or mojitos. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful. Ask for their recommendations if you can not decide what to order.
Fell in love with the place the moment i walked in (yes, a friend did recommend the place, so i was positively predisposed). The place and nice and cosy and the staff is amazing, starting with the person who greets you at the door to the person serving the food - they just make you feel so comfortable. Please go by what they recommend - like their menu says, they are a walking-talking menu. We agreed to order for Chimichangas (which are tacos), and they turned out to be amazing. For main course, we went for Ranchado Chicken, again turned out yummy. The food is awesome and well served too. Definitely going there again and again!!
If ever there was a restaurant that deserves a FIVE star rating ... this is it !!! It was a family lunch for us that included two ladies who are 70+... and all of us had a wonderful time ... the food was delicious & every dish was a treat... the portions were beyond generous but the best part was the exemplary service! Not just the staff but the owner himself was ensuring that each guest was looked after... kudos to the team of Sammy Sosa... you are a benchmark in hospitality!
A Mexican restaurant on the link road in the Oshiwara area. It's a popular place among the crowd always rush and long waiting for the dine in. I found the food good to taste, however the value for money is not up to mark. Too expensive for the quantity served. The 6 taco were good to taste but the main dish was disappointing 5 pcs of boneless chicken with a 1.5 cup serving of rice. I was disappointed maybe coz of the expectation I had about this place.
Sammy Sosa restaurant in Oshiwara has a very nice ambience. The food is great and so is the service. One thing I really liked about the place is that they greet everybody on entrace as well as while leaving which was very sweet. They also provide you with props like hat for pictures. We had ordered: 1.Mexican Pizza- Really liked it. Something different and delicious. Rating-4/5 2.Garlic Bread- The cheese was properly melted and contained olives. Really liked it. Rating-4/5 Overall Rating: Food-4/5 Ambience-5/5 Service-5/5 Hygiene-4/5
If I have to give credit of bringing me closer to maxican food, it should be Sammy Sosa. It was very accidental to reach there in 2016 as I could not find adequate space at restaurants in vicinity and I had group of friends to treat & entertain. Ever since 2016, it has been like an addiction, like a home away home and arguably one place that i had recommended to more than 50 friends thereafter. I met Virat Kapoor- The man behind the idea and owner of Sammy Sosa. Considering my lack of awareness about maxican delicacies, he helped me finalise what i could eat. He helped me choose Beer (amigo) and starters and also served me most sumptuous food. Since then, Virat has been giving due attention to every thing served to me, every time I visit. The staff is courteous and full of warmth. It is arguably, one of the best place for maxican food. The ambience is amazing, accessible and has enough space for car parking.
If you can’t fly to Cabo for the weekend, why not bring a little bit of Mexican flavour to your evening minus the headache of travel. Don a sombrero and drive down to ‘Sammy Sosa’, a fun Mexican-inspired nightspot right in the heart of Mumbai. This perky Tex Mex joint brings a piece of Mexico to the Maharashtrian lanes of Mumbai. Get ready to experience the colorful exhilarating vibe of Sammy Sosa with a mojito in hand and a friend by your side. Sammy Sosa is just not a watering hole for tipplers, it is also a fantastic spot to come dine with your family. It is situated near Mega Mall, Oshiwara Link Road, Oshiwara, Andheri West. They offer home delivery and valet parking as well, a luxury in Mumbai.
Sammy Sosa used to be the sole Mexican serving joint in Mumbai but now it’s menu has expanded to include Italian, Continental besides a vast range of Mexican dishes. A full-fledged bar menu accompanies the grub. Sammy Sosa has a good collection of beers. They import beers from all over the world, a huge point in their favor. Good way to start is through the appetizers. Chacho nachos, Sammy’s tostada, Mexi skin, quesadilla, crispy prawns, fish fingers, Turkish fish kebabs, chimichangas, mango tequila pez, whacko tacos and Godzilla garlic. Compose main course of, pickle tickle sandwich, cognac pepper fish, Santa Fe chicken, Leonardo’s tortellini, baja bowl, burrito mania, deep sea dive, taco bowl, super trouper lamb, mama sita chika, Moroccan fill sandwich, the Carribean lamb stew and grandma’s lasagna.
Opt for another mojito or a oreo shake to wash the food down. Wrap up the evening with a dessert of your choice. Belgian chocolate, the cheese cake factory, chocolate mud pie, choco lava and apple pie would work wonderfully. Ask your server for the chef’s special for the day. There is a separate area for smokers. If you are with a group of friends then order Sammy’s Tostadas to munch with beers. Prices are a tad high. At first glance Sammy Sosa comes across as a small drinking joint but then you start to notice how they have used the compact space so well. Bright orange walls, striking wall art and foot-tapping music instantly sets the mood. This two-level bar is a great option for a fun night out with friends.
