This popular Tex-Mex eatery boasts of spacious interiors with its characteristic decor. The vibe is relaxed and the seating, spread over 2 levels, comfortable. There is a private dining area available too. The menu is exhaustive and can confuse anyone. Apart from the core, Tex Mex food, there are some global offerings too. The 'Whacko Tacos' with a shredded chicken or lamb topping, will please carnivores. There are vegetarian versions too. The 'Mexi Skin', is a good option, to begin with. The 'Chicken Quesadillas' is too spicy and messy. The Lebanese market is a familiar and safer bet. The 'Ranchado Chicken' is a delight and served on a bed of 'Mexican Rice', proves to be a deeply satisfying meal. The portions are hearty, the food well-executed, but overpriced and the ingredients used, of a good quality. Among desserts, the 'Apple Pie', disappoints as the portion is measly and the filling, inadequate and dry. The service staff although helpful needs to better trained and alert. Steer clear of the fish dishes, if Basa is not your favourite fish, as that is what is on offer.
When you read their story and realise how close it came to not opening the current owners have done a fantastic job. We had as much fun as we did last year. The young man running the site on 30th Aug is a credit to them. He went out of his way to try to make sure that everyone there had a great day. He had so much to do single handed that he needed to be an octopus. And whilst we were there people’s children tipped all of the water out of the large containers. He’d had to fill those himself that morning and looked so deflated but explained to everyone why that section would now have to be closed for the day. When my son looked disappointed he even offered to go and get him a smaller bucket of water so that he could have a go. With groupon tickets a great deal
This venue really needs some work. The play park was horrendous and the garden games ie swingball and hula hoop were cheap additions to add to a poor set up. The maize was ok but definitely not worth the £20 entry fee. We definitely won’t be returning and will tell friends not to waste their money when there are better venues like Rare Breeds etc
Good fun and good value. Maze, games, go-carting - something for all ages. Under new management so better than previously and worth a visit.
I went with my 14 and 10 year old and we had a great morning. We spent a lot of time in the maze trying to find the clues which was great fun. We also all had a go on the go carts and then had a huge water fight with the water and water guns provided. Drinks were very reasonably priced and the staff were friendly. We had a groupon deal which added to the value and have purchased another one for it.
Decided to take my daughters at the start of the summer hols 2018. My comments: Parking is plenty and free. Cost - over priced for what is there Adults £7.50 and kids £5.50. I wouldn’t return and pay this amount. £3/£4 per person I feel a more reasonable for what you get. Why do places charge adults at a higher rate? We are there for children to enjoy so don’t agree with the price here at all. Play area okay with sand pits however the swings and wooden apparatus seem a little flimsy. Feels like ones you’d buy for garden at home. No zip wire avail. Guys were in the process of building this whilst we were there. Go karts - a little tired and stiff to use. Think there was about 5 avail. Although little one enjoyed using it. Could make track larger as the field is huge and rather empty. Water guns - some weren’t working properly. Again seemed like cheap ones. Access to water was fine though. There are swing balls, netball, balls and other garden toys as you’d have at home. Great space to relax with a picnic although the site could do with some refreshing and picnic tables around the grounds would be good too. Dry and a bit overgrown. Definitely could do with more activities for the price you pay. Didn’t get to the maize so can’t comment. I think a little more attention to the grounds, more activities would warrant the entry costs.
