The animated vibe and cheerful décor of this place beckon you instantly. The seating is comfortable and varied. Expect a menu which offers Indian cuisine curated in a modern style with global influences. The sloppy Joe jackfruit sliders stand out owing to the robust flavours and textures, making a carnivore forget his meat for a change. 'Kingfish Bhurji Kadak Roomali' is any seafood lover’s delight. Tamarind and Tellicherry pepper roasted 'Pumpkin Pyaaz Thorran' is infused with comforting flavours and the innovation subtle. Less is more is the mantra here and the food is sans any gimmicks. The presentation maybe quirky but the flavours are Indian to the core. Old monk soaked roasted 'Lamb Boti', 'Haleem Khow Suey' and 'Moong Dal Keema Buttered Edamame' and 'Roti Canai' are a must try. For those who prefer simple food, the good or classics are there too. The ‘Tappa Specials’ from the vast cocktail menu are worth trying. Among desserts, 'Filter Coffee Dates Sticky Pudding with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream' and 'Malpua Pancakes' with 'Jaggery and Fennel Maple Syrup' are guilty pleasures worth indulging in. Service is efficient and unobtrusive; the staff well-versed with the offerings.
TAPPA means BOUNCE and as the name suggest it surely brings the bounce of happiness when you visit them. TAPPA is a progressive Indian kitchen and an amazing cocktail bar superbly placed at Kamala Mills. If you are a foodie like me than you cannot miss this place and experience this wonderful adventure with flavors. They source their ingredients from all over the country and try to blend it with a conventional dish so as to ensure that great fusion which you never knew existed. They are highly innovative when it comes to their drinks and try to ensure a sustainable menu which would cater to every age group. They have in-house 24 bitters and 30 homemade liqueurs Why should you visit them..? Garry, Tappa’s award-winning mixologist, makes sure every table has a small batch of in-house bitters. The blue vials that conceal the botanical garnishes contain vanilla, paan, and mixed berry flavors. He also creates a variety of in-house liquors, such as a phenomenal aquavit and a limoncello that wafts the same alluring scent as the Italian original. However, Tappa’s attention to detail does not stop at their selection of signature cocktails. Tappa meticulously sources fresh ingredients from across the nation to ensure their food menu does justice to India’s bountiful produce. Good ambience, decent wine list, not bad food, but with the live music, it livens up... and thankfully, the place has room to shake a leg or two.. And yes, the service is cool... they didnt say no to almost anything we asked. We had an Italian wine, soya chaap, some non-veg stuff which I didnt have, and then some more. Dont quite remember, but it seemed okay.
Being the Ganesh festive period the restaurant was easy and leas occupied. With a full fledged bar and an interesting menu I chose the Haleem kaw suey Which was quite a treat with condiments and lamb mince naan. As an appetiser, the salad with asparagus was different with chick peas hummus. Overall ambience was quite nice and the food has flavour. There were many more options on the menu but this was enough for two.
We were there for around 2 hours. The service is pretty good and that's why the 2 star rating. The food quality is not up to the mark. At least 3 out of 6 guys had a bad stomach for the next two days. Also, taste wise also it's below par. Never going again
A warm and friendly place for a meal. We started our dinner with Chicken Tikki Naga Chillies Bokchoy. Naga Chillies have the highest spice rank in the world and I realised what I am getting into. But, I was pleasantly surprised. It was spicy — at just the right level — not unbearable. The Bokchoys gave some relief from the spice levels. It was a different kind of slickness — thoroughly enjoyable ! Next was Neo Changezi Chicken, which had a good tomato based gravy, accompanied with Rumali Roti. Dark Chocolate and Litchi Fudge was an interesting combination. Overall, a good dining experience !
