The animated vibe and cheerful décor of this place beckon you instantly. The seating is comfortable and varied. Expect a menu which offers Indian cuisine curated in a modern style with global influences. The sloppy Joe jackfruit sliders stand out owing to the robust flavours and textures, making a carnivore forget his meat for a change. 'Kingfish Bhurji Kadak Roomali' is any seafood lover’s delight. Tamarind and Tellicherry pepper roasted 'Pumpkin Pyaaz Thorran' is infused with comforting flavours and the innovation subtle. Less is more is the mantra here and the food is sans any gimmicks. The presentation maybe quirky but the flavours are Indian to the core. Old monk soaked roasted 'Lamb Boti', 'Haleem Khow Suey' and 'Moong Dal Keema Buttered Edamame' and 'Roti Canai' are a must try. For those who prefer simple food, the good or classics are there too. The ‘Tappa Specials’ from the vast cocktail menu are worth trying. Among desserts, 'Filter Coffee Dates Sticky Pudding with Vanilla Bean Ice Cream' and 'Malpua Pancakes' with 'Jaggery and Fennel Maple Syrup' are guilty pleasures worth indulging in. Service is efficient and unobtrusive; the staff well-versed with the offerings.
Being the Ganesh festive period the restaurant was easy and leas occupied. With a full fledged bar and an interesting menu I chose the Haleem kaw suey Which was quite a treat with condiments and lamb mince naan. As an appetiser, the salad with asparagus was different with chick peas hummus. Overall ambience was quite nice and the food has flavour. There were many more options on the menu but this was enough for two.
We were there for around 2 hours. The service is pretty good and that's why the 2 star rating. The food quality is not up to the mark. At least 3 out of 6 guys had a bad stomach for the next two days. Also, taste wise also it's below par. Never going again
A warm and friendly place for a meal. We started our dinner with Chicken Tikki Naga Chillies Bokchoy. Naga Chillies have the highest spice rank in the world and I realised what I am getting into. But, I was pleasantly surprised. It was spicy — at just the right level — not unbearable. The Bokchoys gave some relief from the spice levels. It was a different kind of slickness — thoroughly enjoyable ! Next was Neo Changezi Chicken, which had a good tomato based gravy, accompanied with Rumali Roti. Dark Chocolate and Litchi Fudge was an interesting combination. Overall, a good dining experience !
We visited this place only coz they had a live music band playing. We reached around 8.30 and were given the seat next to the bar right at back. We couldnot see the guys playing at all. Bit of a damper. Seating could be more comfortable. High chairs and high table, you can't really sit too long. I felt the place is a bit overpriced for the ambience. In spite of Zoomato Gold membership. We paid 3000+ for 4 drinks & no food. Staff is friendly and attentive.
Another great addition to LBF's array of restaurants, Tappa in Kamala Mills is an amazing restaurant that is perfect in every aspect. With soft and comfortable interiors, well trained staff, and impeccable food and drinks, there's nothing that I didn't like about Tappa. Most people come here for the food, especially since its from the same chain as Punjab Grill, and the food here is absolutely phenomenal. They have amazing north Indian cuisine, and even the Oriental dishes I had were on point. How does this differentiate itself from the plethora of outlets in Lower Parel? With its cocktails! Tappa by far had the best cocktails I've ever had till date. Izler the mixologist made beautiful cocktails, and they have a great concept of keeping bitters made in house on the tables to add to your drinks or water to add a unique taste. Their cocktail menu is like non other, you won't see the typical cocktails and the LIITs on it, but the cocktail menu was actually made with great care and the bartenders craft them elegantly. Prices for food are totally value for money while the cocktails are mildly on the higher side, but like I said, this place had the best cocktails I've ever had till date. WHAT YOU CANNOT MISS WHEN AT TAPPA - In food - Ajwain fish tikka Old monk soaked lamb (my favorite dish) Tappa haleem khow suey In cocktails - Pink Velvet The Affair The Casanova Verdict- Food - 5/5 Ambiance 5/5 Service 10/5!!( thank you Izler and Melody!)
