Food

The Calcutta Club

The Calcutta Club is a restaurant in Andheri West, Mumbai serving Bengali, North Indian and biryani. Known for Bengali dishes; ideal for family meals and group outings.

Quite disappointed with the food, service, overall experience of this place. Almost all items we ordered were bad. The beguni was thick, loaded with atta/maida and no besan was used, terrible. We sent it back! The prawn cutlet had thick coating and hardly any prawn, very bad taste. Everything else was just about average.
The food taste doesn’t justify the price at all - even after sharing experience with the owner we didn’t get any response (they apparently don’t use besan for beguni).

Please avoid this place if you’re looking to eat good Bengali food. Terrible!

Has become my go to place now. Amazing food and very polite staffs. The atmosphere is very relaxing.

Calcutta Club stands out as a gem for authentic Bengali cuisine in the city. The restaurant's diverse menu showcases an impressive array of dishes, with their fish preparations being particularly noteworthy. From classic favorites to lesser-known delicacies, each dish is a flavorful journey through Bengali culinary traditions.

The ambiance perfectly complements the food, with interiors that evoke nostalgia for old Calcutta. Soft Bengali music playing in the background enhances the dining experience, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere.

Service is prompt and courteous, with staff members who are both knowledgeable and friendly. Their attentiveness adds to the overall pleasant dining experience.

Whether you're craving a satisfying lunch or a memorable dinner, Calcutta Club delivers on all fronts. It's highly recommended for anyone seeking an authentic taste of Bengal in a charming setting.

after a long time i visited this place, food quality is good but they reduced food quantity. now its too less not enough for two person. and more Expensive. but we liked chicken biryani and mustard chutney. check bill they are adding service charges also, with no reason. ask them to waive off.

Bad food. Takes some effort to make it that bad. Had pabda curry light and tengra spicy curry. Both are catfish. Over fried the non scaly fishes and literally succeeded in making them crunchy even after being dipped in the curry. Served the spicy tengra jhaal curry first ( even a 3 year old can have this hit curry). Then came the cumin curry of pabda which should have come first. Don’t even know the sequence what to serve first. The curry was overloaded with ginger paste. System not working. Gave me a hand bill but took an amount inclusive of GSt. One more joint that will make people run away from Bengali cuisine. Check the pics for the veracity of my observation. Both the fishes were stale. Think the tengra jhol was stale or reheated after refrigeration. Told about my experience to the waiter and to a lady who probably is the owner.

It's the best place to enjoy the Bengali style food in Mumbai .
The food tasted really good and It's a pleasant atmosphere .

We ordered the Luchi and Mutton Kosha (The Calcutta Club Special ) it was yum .5/5
Then we ordered the Special chicken Biryani .It was good in taste .5/5

All together a great ambiance and soulful place to have your Bengali style Meal .
Must visit this place ,if you are craving to have a good and original style of Bengali Food .

Ordered food from here. Very very average food. The Mutton biryani was totally dry n terrible. Betki fry was overdone but tasted ok with the Mustard dip. The mutton roll was good with tender well made mutton pieces.

Mutton Biryani - 1/5
Betki fry - 2/5
Mutton roll - 3/5

Portion size was good for the price
