This fine dining restaurant with classy interiors, reopens in a new avatar with a brand new menu. The seating is plush and comfortable, and the bar at one end, attractive and well-lit. Chef Ajay Chopra has curated the food offerings in his inimitable style. Indian food from across the country, with authentic flavours, but a modern presentation, is what you can expect. The bar menu is impressive as well. The 'Malabar Seafood Soup' is hearty with intense flavours. The 'Tomato Chai', actually a lightly flavoured shorba with a dumpling, is served with aplomb. The 'Chilly Tamarind Red Snapper Ceviche' oozes freshness and crunch and is a pleasant surprise. The 'Haleem Baklava' although inventive and aesthetically presented, pales in comparison, as the haleem flavours are off-the-mark and masked. The 'Himalayan Saag', 'Aloo Thechauni' and 'Multigrain Roti Meal', is a highlight here, not-to-be-missed. Vegetarians will relish the well-made 'Gucchi Biryani'. The ingredients take centre stage here and the food is high on flavours and quality. Among desserts, the 'Chocolate Ghewar', is an absolute treat. Service staff is warm and friendly and the service, alert. The food here is a tad overpriced.
Went with my family for dinner, the food variety is good and the menu spread is really different. The staff is courteous and helpful and each and every one came for feedback for the food and service which means they care. The presentation of the food was really good with all the theatrics of smoke and pouring gravies etc. But was a tad disappointed with the quality of the taste which is the most important aspect of the restaurant. Food wasn’t bad but wasn’t excellent either. Overall and excellent ambiance with innovative menu, worth giving it a shot once and see if it tickles ur taste buds.
I would suggest go for a lunch because you will be spoilt for choice and over eating would not be easy for dinner. Valet is available so you don’t have to worry about finding a parking in the narrow lanes. The restaurant is located on the 2nd floor of the Empressa hotel. The restroom is though at the 1st floor which can only be a reason of bother We were a large group and it was family gathering where we were meeting together after a long time. The meal did made it memorable is what I have to agree. We had only starters a combination of veg & non veg. The mutton Paya do stand out as exceptional. The others were unique not only in presentation but also on taste. There was a twist & experimentation in every dish which stands out. It was my nephews birthday & the staff made it special on presenting a cake to the boy. The kids also enjoyed the meal along with the adults. A special thanks to Atanu who was a perfect host and had eye for details at all time. I am surely going back again
