Adding a dash of Bollywood masala to Pune’s culinary scene is the Mugshot Café, owned by Priyanka Chopra’s brother Siddharth Chopra. A large wooden door on the third floor of Jewel Square beckons people meandering around the mall. Once you enter, it is a straightforward affair with black leather couches and red brick walls holding vintage guns and poster frames of classic crime dramas like Casablanca, possibly as a doff to the establishment’s name. My picks from the menu would be the gulabi jhinga – rose petal and pomegranate-infused tandoor prawns – the chicken kabab with creamy fontina melts and mint dust, panzerotti (mini calzones) stuffed with buffalo mozzarella, vegetables and red pepper pesto, and the crispy-skin snapper with parmesan shavings and spinach tossed in a light beetroot sabayon and drizzled with vanilla bean oil.
Jan 4 evening: Browsing through Zomato for beer offers led us to this place. This is in the mall next to Blue Diamond (Taj). Looks like a run down mall. Inside is not to our liking - loud music, flashing lights. Fortunately, they have an outdoor seating - quiet and nice. The evening didn't start well - they didn't have beer on tap which they charge at 69 bucks. Instead we had to take a bucket of pints. Not what we wanted. Higher price and obviously not as good as draught. Coming to food - masala papad was good. Roasted masala peanuts was also nice and the masala was good. Mushroom tandoori was good but the paneer jaali kebab was horrible - very chewy and had no taste. The service was not upto the mark considering we were the only table occupied in the outdoor area. Food quality was inconsistent and no beer on tap!
The overall place disappoints. There is a dance floor and they have some good drinks. But the food, service staff and the building premises are quite sorry. So
This is one of the worst lounges I have been to. The front desk lady, in charge of collecting cover charge was clueless about credit cards! She probably saw an AMEX for the first time. Some of the bouncers were a bit too in your face. The service staff inside was extremely confused about serving beer by the pitcher. The music was below average. The worst part however, was the absolutely clueless manager and one person who probably was his assistant. This place may be visited by people who haven't seen many clubs / lounges but them aside, its worth a pass.
One of the Worth Lounge In Kp. Superb Interior as well as the service. The music is fab every time but More exciting is the after 12 party 🤘🏻🤘🏻 Best for its food and taste. ”Must try once”
It is a good place... with a very good ambience, good crowd, good decor, good food, and good service. The mocktails out here are good... my favourite being April lady . The sizzlers and their pizzas are just yummm.... to die for. Service is excellent, with courteous staff
Taking the matters further in the gastronomy department is ‘The Mugshot Café’ which with its superb menu and excellent flavours have completely turned around the face of food scene. Located in Koregaon Park, Pune, the café is a trendy and popular place with families and large groups of friends alike. Besides the food, a tempting range of flavoured hookahs adds to the mystery and attraction of the café. The décor of The Mugshot Café is pretty standard with a timeless kind of design which works well with the spaciousness of the room. Deep wooden floor spreads out beneath a brick red room which looks airy because of the presence of huge picture windows. Black leather couches takes up the space dividing it at discreet levels. The restaurant’s outdoor section equipped with a lovely fireplace is a sought after space by the punters who like nothing better than soaking up the sunshine on pleasant Pune days.
The service at The Mugshot Café is pleasant and smooth. The staff is a cheerful lot who does everything to make your evening a comfortable one. But what earns the restaurant its reputation is the food – lip-smacking, delicious food. Restaurant follows a multicuisine menu so it has all the fingers in the pie. You will find the menu global and creative, featuring dishes that are not only tasty but comforting. The Mugshot Café opens the menu with Thai tom yum soup, Greek salad, chicken satay, wok tossed paneer, Seville gazpacho, butter garlic cochin prawn, chicken kung pao, nori kebab, mushroom 65, chili cheese toast, vegetable spring rolls, gulabi jhinga, sweet chilli potato, paneer jaali kebab, jalapenos cheese poppers, mutton sheek gilafi, nacho vegetarian, videshi macchi, Firdausi aaloo, chicken lollypop, laal choozey and prawn spring roll. The appetizers do wonderfully with cocktails and any drink of your choice. Their bar menu is well stocked.
Though the appetizers are more than enough to satisfy your appetite, you should not miss onto the delectable main course featuring spectacular dishes like, roast chicken, risotto al porcini, the mugshot club sandwich, pork spare ribs, nalli nihari, chicken tikka masala, nasi goreng, roast sea bass fillet, mutton kheema masala, chicken piccata, Cajun chicken wraps, tagliatelle, fried fish steak burger, roast rack of lamb, subz hussainabadi, king fish masala, lamb Milanese and kate masala ka murgh. Belgium chocolate mousse comes highly recommended as a dessert. The Mugshot Café is a pocket-friendly and fun-loving place.
