The place is quite nice and the overall ambience is inspired by yellow lights and some modern, eclectic furniture and seating. It has loud music on, almost all year round, so, technically it is a pub without a dancefloor though. The menu is fairly simple and straightforward and that may be great for most people who want to eat some nice grub. The appetizers are varied and there is massive variety for the same, you might even get confused as to which one’s better than the others. We tried the 'Kashmiri Thikana' that is your classic 'Mutton Seekh Kebab' served with mint chutney by the side. The drinks are extensive and there is ample of variety for everyone. Our attention was caught by the 'Cutting Chai' cocktail that is a mix of White Rum, lime cordial and some earl grey tea. Now, even though they say it is cutting chai, it is nowhere close to what you would expect. In fact, it is more of a UK inspired Tea cocktail there can be. A better high tea you think or perhaps the tea that gives you a high? Bring it on! The mains as well are fairly diverse and the focus is on sizzlers and North Indian grub. Even though that sounds safe and nice, many of the dishes are quite oily and greasy, something you would not expect. The 'Paneer Tikka Masala', for instance, is very oily, so much that half of the gravy is separated from the oil and the paneer is floating away. The desserts are may not be an important element because they are more focused on alcohol sales and even food. So, you would just get 'Sizzling Brownie with some Vanilla Ice cream' and that is the only one available more often than not.
The drinks and salads are lovely. I appreciate the service as it's quick and they understand the requirements. Cheers!!
I had been to thinkana on 25/01/19 with my husband. We were having food and it was 11:45pm.there was 3waiters approaching to our table and irritating us saying sir finish your food and liquor as we have to close down finally I blasted on the waiters and the captain. It was our insult. I would suggest noone to visit this place as they don't have manners. Another point is that they charged me 5% service tax on food and 5% service tax on liquor plus CGST of 2.5% SGST of 2.5% and Vat of 5%. I spoke to their manager he said it is mandatory to pay service charges where as service charges is an individual choice. I am attaching my bills for the details. Don't go here worst staff. I am a foodie and love to go various places but this was my worst experience.
It is located on FC road ,pune.its a good place for small parties with maximum 8-10 people group.they dont have much space .they dont have much options in dishes and drinks. Rate is also quite high . Environment is good but still need more improvement.
Good Ambiance With Good Service The Bell Rung We Are Normally Going For The Party Where We Have Good And Positive Wibes Of Ambiance
I had heard a lot about this place so decided to visit it on 29th September, but was let down by two things. One being too much crowd which is good in a way as this means its a great place to be. Second being cover charge of Rs.1000 per person which is in my opinion very high (although we were a couple still). Maybe will visit again in future but not too soon, suggestion would be to not visit the place during weekends and if possible limit your visit for official parties only where charges are already paid.
Thikana is a piece of earthy chicness in a modern stylish driven world of Pune. Where you go in expecting your usual green spaces well decorated with striking designs, finding a place composed of simple exposed brick walls and corner-to-corner lights surprises you. Thikana is a trendy casual bar where you can go to for a nice drinking session after work with your date for a Special Occasion. This bar would serve well for couples. The mood lighting and informal yet good-looking décor puts Thikana on the map with the tipplers on date. Don’t forget to sample their pocket-friendly multi-cuisine menu.
