A cosy, colourful space with comfy couches, woodwork, and a spurt of foliage here and there – TJ’s is your de facto safe choice if you are a seeker of good beer and tasty nibbles. Once you have taken in the inviting setting and found yourself amply relaxed, down a few of their freshly brewed wonders (the cloudy and pale Zen Weiss is a light and extremely smooth lager, while the ‘mystery brew’ is a minty tipple with tinges of green apple) – mind you, these beers tend to make you tipsy faster than you can say ‘cheers!’. The food menu is a good mix of Indian, Continental and fusion bar snacks that go well with the drinks – try the chicken braised with Irish beer, samosas stuffed with lashings of cheese and crunchy corn, and the cornflake-crusted Cajun-spiced chicken strips.
