Good Ambience and Interior Undermined by Immature Service and Below-Average Food

We decided to try out this café for a special family occasion, knowing it was new in town and eager to explore it. Unfortunately, it ended up being a completely disappointing experience. At first glance, the café has a pretty decent ambiance and well-designed interiors, but from the very start of our dining experience, the lack of professionalism in the service became apparent.

The staff member who came to take our order for a group of six arrived empty-handed, attempting to memorize the entire order. Unsurprisingly, halfway through, she realized she couldn’t remember everything and had to run back to get a tab, retaking the entire order from scratch. This set the tone for the evening.

From that point on, basic service etiquette was consistently ignored — something you wouldn’t expect from a café that looks this good:

- No water or glasses were provided.
- No tissues were present on the table.
- Right number of forks were not given.
- Throughout the entire meal, no plates were provided, forcing the six of us to share directly from the dish's serving plate

If water is chargeable, there’s no harm in placing a mineral water bottle on the table, right? Even after one of the kids asked for water, the staff asked if anyone else needed water. I mean, REALLY?!

Now, moving on to the food... We ordered the following dishes:

- Lemon Coriander Chicken Soup - ₹95
- Cream of Chicken Soup - ₹114
- Pesto Caesar Salad with Chicken - ₹190
- Dynamite Chicken - ₹266
- BBQ Pulled Chicken Overload Fries - ₹171
- Chicken Steak - ₹371
- Grilled Chicken Wrap - ₹171
- Hot Chocolate - ₹85

Here’s our take on each dish:

- Lemon Coriander Chicken Soup: The lemon flavor was overwhelmingly intense — we expected some tanginess, but this was overpowering and unpleasant for most of us.

- Cream of Chicken Soup: Not as creamy as expected, but still edible.

- Pesto Caesar Salad with Chicken: The vegetables didn’t taste fresh or cool, as a salad should. Combined with the dressing, it became inedible for the kids, though we ate it just to avoid wasting food.

- Dynamite Chicken: It didn’t live up to its name — the sauce lacked flavor. That said, the chicken was surprisingly crispy, which made it a little more bearable.

- BBQ Pulled Chicken Overload Fries: This wasn’t too bad — a different preparation of finely shredded BBQ chicken served with a generous portion of fries.

- Chicken Steak: This was not grilled but fried — and not even the usual crispy fried. It had the seasoning of grilled chicken but was inexplicably fried, leading to confusion.

- Grilled Chicken Wrap: The filling was underwhelming, with liquid oozing out, and the wrap itself seemed undercooked, as if it had been made in a hurry.

- Hot Chocolate: This tasted like the usual Milo drink you get in most cafés — nothing special, but acceptable.

We shared all these concerns with the staff, and their response was that it was closing time and there was pressure from the kitchen. However, the café is open until midnight, and we arrived at 10 PM — a full two hours before closing. If that’s considered too late, perhaps the café should reassess its working hours.

After taking our order, the staff informed us that it would take 30 minutes to prepare the dishes. It felt as though they were subtly hoping we’d cancel some items. The most amusing part? The hot chocolate arrived first — before the soup — and the soup itself only showed up 30 minutes after we placed the order. Every dish arrived with delays, and finally, after more than an hour, the staff asked if they could serve the steak as if we had an option to refuse at that point.

My humble suggestion: You have a beautifully designed café in a prime location — please ensure your service and food quality match the high standards your interior suggests. Proper training for the staff and attention to basic etiquette would go a long way, as would an upgrade in food quality. You have great potential, but there’s a lot of work needed to get there.

Bliss Cafe is a charming spot with a warm atmosphere. The menu features a great selection of freshly brewed coffee, delicious pastries, and light lunch options. I especially recommend the French Fries paired with a cappuccino – both were fantastic! The staff is friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. Whether you're in the mood for a quick snack or a peaceful break, Bliss Cafe is a great choice.

Each dish is expertly prepared and presented. Friendly staff, reasonable prices, and generous portions make this bliss cafe a must-visit place.
