Nice quaint restaurant with good food, South Indian ambience & staff that doesn't hover over you when not required.
The Ghee Podu Dosa, Benne Dosa, Mysore Masala Dosa are the chef's recommended dishes which are good.
Fairly priced.

Worst experience ever??I visited this restaurant expecting an authentic South Indian experience, but it was a massive letdown. The dosa was completely tasteless and even more disappointing were the chutneys, which were bland n lacked any real flavour . For a cuisine that relies so heavily on these staples, the quality was well below average. I would NOT recommend this place if you are looking for genuine South Indian taste.

Southak taste has been declined,I am having this after 1 year and other south indian restaurant are far more better than Southak in Vadodara.
The Chutneys are not satisfactory, the price for south indian here is too much than any other Good south indian restaurant located in Vadodara at prime locations.
We tried benne here , and it was really bad , not crispy and not even cooked well.

It is a very small resturant with average ambience. Their charges are high compared to quality and ambience. Not at all anfine dinning experience. They don't even pick up a phone call. If don't want to ruine your special day avoid this place. In this much of cost you can easily go tona five star hotel set up for dinner

Sitting arrangement needs to be increased.

We waited 30 minutes outside and another 15-20 minutes inside the restaurant, no one came to take our order. After repeatedly waiting, we finally had to call a staff member ourselves. To our surprise, we were told that they could not take our order because there was no gas in the kitchen for cooking.
This means we wasted almost an entire hour due to extremely poor management and lack of basic coordination. Such negligence seriously damages the reputation of The Secret Kitchen. Very disappointing and unprofessional experience.
