Atithi is a very popular restaurant for 'Gujarati Thali' meal. Atithi means guest which is an apt description of customers who come to the restaurant for a Gujarati meal. Most Gujarati Thali places offer unlimited food with multiple dishes in a single meal which means it is really sumptuous and very filling. Atithi has 2 branches. The one on C G Road, opposite to Parimal Garden is located on the first floor. It is a simple place with tables and chairs in dark brown colour and it has a small lounge area where you can wait for your friends or family before sitting in for a meal. A thali meal includes 4 different types of vegetables - Potato vegetable, paneer gravy item, one green vegetable and one lentil preparation. Also, there are 2 savoury items which could be 'Dhokla', 'Khandvi', 'Green Kachori' or 'Methi Pakoda' and any of the other Gujarati snacks. It will also include 2 sweet dishes, most likely some Gujarati sweet like 'Basundi', 'Shrikhand', 'Mango Ras', etc. Also, there will be 'Dal' and 'Kadhi', both will be sweet in taste. Additionally, there will be 'Wheat Chapattis', 'Bajra Rotla' (thick flatbread), 'Puris', 'Pickle', 'Salad', 'Papad', 'Chutneys' and 'Green Chillies'. You will also get 'Pure Ghee' and 'Jaggery' in case you want to eat it with 'Bajra Rotla'. There is also 'Chaas' or 'Buttermilk', which is good for digestion, and, is a must in a Gujarati meal. Service is swift and continuous. The staff will keep on replenishing your plate as soon as you finish any one of the food items on your plate, so stop the server firmly when you have enough or your plate will never get empty.
Atitithi is one of my favourite Guj joint. This place is comparatively new. Location is very nyc. Food is always delicious. You can go with family, friends, corporate lunch etc
The interiors are good with nice sitting arrangements. One can enjoy varieties of Gujarati dishes with sweets. The rates are cheap and can be said value for money.
They have 2 options 1 limited thali - 199 and 1 unlimited-300. both are worth the price. their bajra roti is fat bt thr biscuit roti is to die for..both of these are for unlimited thali only. the sabjis and sweet dishes were good too. overall its a good thali experience.
Visited with friedns on sunday and enjoyed the delicious Gujarati thali - verities of sweets, farsans, vegetables, salad, roti, puri, rice etc. Go with an empty stomach to enjoy the lavish spread.
A lavish traditional Gujarati spread! Truly requiring gastronomic stamina!! Enjoyed best after working up a good appetite!
