Narmada restaurant has restyled itself as a speciality Awadhi and Mughlai restaurant which offers an authentic North Indian experience. The décor reminds one of Nawabi grandeur where the walls of the restaurant are adorned with paintings of paalkis and canopies used by the nawabs of Avadh. As you enter, you know you are going to get a different experience in Narmada. The plates, glass and side plates and even the cutlery is made of Bell Metal which was used traditionally by Indians for centuries for preparing and serving food. Using bell metal utensils is said to be good for health. The food served here will make you want to lick your fingers. The menu is limited but do not let that stop you. The menu is engraved on a wooden flat board, on both sides. Different and classy. Begin with Ananas Ka Panna, which is made of pineapple as the name suggests. Kababs here are a must try. You should definitely try either the Galauti Kebabs or the Kakori Kababs. Vegetarians should opt for Khoya Khubani Kababs. Try Khada Makai Palak and Dal-e-Khas, if you are a vegetarian. In fact, both vegetarians and non-vegetarians should try the Dal-e-Khas, which is Ma ki Dal. It is delicious. Non-vegetarians should not miss Murg Rejala, Nihari Gosht or Rogan Josh. Biryanis here is both authentic and also very tasty, vegetarian and non-vegetarian variety.
