The Indian Story is a relatively new restaurant in Chandkheda area on New C G Road. Located on the first floor, this midsized restaurant is done up in contemporary style with the interiors having beige, brown and grey colours. The lamp shades are stylish and the exposed bulbs overhead hang by white ropes. There is a small reception area and the entrance is from the front of the complex where one has to climb metal stairs. There is also a lift on the backside of the building for those who can not climb stairs. The restaurant serves North Indian and Chinese cuisine. The soups and beverages are a regular fare but they have a section of their signature dishes. One must-try at least one of them. Try the 'Butter Chicken Samosa' or the 'Bhuna Gosht Samosa'. There is also 'Chicken Kheema Samosa'. The only vegetarian option in this section is 'Veg Naanza'. There is, of course, 'Non-Veg Naanza' also available. You can also opt for 'Pan Fried Stuffed Chicken in Balsamic Sauce'. From the 'Tandoor Se' section, vegetarians should order the 'Dil Khush Kebab' or the 'Stuffed Malai Chaap' which is Soya Chaap stuffed with Cheese and Paneer. Non-vegetarians can order the 'Reshmi Kebab' or 'Murgh Ke Shole' which is chicken marinated in Peanut paste or 'Tandoori Jhinga' if you like prawns. Also, try the 'Punjab Ka Kukkad' or 'Chicken Chettinad' for the main course, though the later dish is from Tamil Nadu and not a North Indian preparation. Also, try the 'Nalli Nihari'. Vegetarians can try the 'Sahi Paneer Moti' or the 'Pasanda Paneer'. 'Dal Makhani' is always a great dish to have in a restaurant serving North Indian cuisine, but there is also 'Dal Palak' which is both healthy and tasty.
