Not often do you come across a multi-cuisine restaurant that does all its dishes well and you don’t walk out feeling like you had a very generic meal. Cable Car has long been a popular favorite in Jayanagar and with good reason. If you would like to go the Italian way, then their pastas the 'Crostini' and the 'Cheesy Quesadilla' are a way to go. For Indian you could do the 'Pahadi Aloo' which comes in a green masala or the 'Amritsari Babycorn' which packs quite a bit in the spice department. Good nevertheless when you pair it with one of the virgin flavoured 'Mojitos'. The 'Tomato Shorba' is light and aromatic with fresh coriander. A good soup for a cold evening. The 'Subzi Tawa Masala' with 'Spring Onion Kulcha' (Never seen this variety before) is quite the good combination. The veggies are heavy on the grease, but nothing wrong in some indulgence occasionally, especially when it tastes really good. Mix that up with some 'Jeera Rice' and you have comfort food going. The 'Daal Bukhara' is not really up there but is still good enough and when paired with the garlic naan works really nice. The place offers a lot in Paneer, so if you are a Paneer lover, you are going to love it. Always a sucker for 'Bhindi', this place whips up some good dishes with this vegetable. The Italian and Indo-Chinese will not leave you disappointed.
Was attracted to this Vegetarian Hotel mainly by its name viz Cable Car Restaurant. When we went to the Restaurant only 2 Cable Cars were there for dining which had a big wait time.
While dining in a cable care is the novelty here, the restaurant is reasonably good in serving vegetarian food with a choice of ala carte as well as buffet for lunch.
This is one of the very few themed Veg restaurants probably in India. It is modeled after the SFO restaurant. The ambiance is very good and if you have Nearby coupon, you can get at a reduced price. Weekends are crowded but food was awesome. If you want to have a memorable event lunch/dinner, this is the place to choose.
Food -4/5 Ambience- 4.5/5 Service -4/5 Price - 4/5 Hygiene- 4/5 Parking -4/5 Buffet spread - 4/5 Desserts -5/5 Fire Safety- Situated on 4th floor, accessible through lift and stairs. No visible fire safety equipment. Exit point does not have kitchen. No visible secondary exit points. This is one of the few very old restaurants in Jayanagar area. This is a pure veg restaurant modelled around the San Francisco cable car. moment you enter the restaurant you will get the vibe and theme of the restaurant on a whole. Immediately after the entrance the place has very nice painting which is carved on white walls. That place also doubles up as selfie taking place. you have a decent Reception area which doubles up for the restaurant and also the hotel that they have. Once you take the lift and arrive at the floor of the restaurant you would see the actual cable car in every element. Starting from to sitting places which are almost Mini sized cable car to wall theme everything is modelled around cable car. There are also few showcases, which has original and actual equipment used for cable car. The theme is really very cute and pleasing and then go for an occasion of casual dining as well as a romantic eat out place. Priced at roughly 400 to 450 based on the day you are going and time you are going for eating, it serves a decent spread of really good vegetarian food. They have a live counter section of Italian and South Indian food which would serve you hot and delicious customised food on your table. 🍴🍴 The live counter section has pasta with your choice of fillers. They have choice of plain and palak masala dosa which were really tasty and served with generous dose of ghee. There was also a chat session which served your choice of dahi puri, pani puri or masala puri. 🍵🍵 The soup section had spicy and strong "Veg Manchow soup" and subtle "Tom Yum" soup. I loved the subtle "Tom Yum" soup. 🥗🥗 The salad section had a variety of spread in "Russian salad", "Lido Pasta Salad", "Spicey Roasted Potato", "Corn Salad", "Green Salad". I loved the Russian Salad which was creamy and Lido Pasta salad which was delicious as well. 🍡🍡 The starters were also deluctable and nice. I loved the "Paneer Dilbahar" and "Veg Kurkure Kabab". "Veg noodle wrap" was an interesting item. It was veg balls wrapped on crunchy noodle. It was crispy and tasted great. "Babycorn Ginger Chilly" was also spicy and delicious. 🥘🥘 Main course had also quite extensive spread of nicely curated dishes. "Paneer Tawa Masala" was roasted deliciously in a gravy of subtle yet interesting masala. I won't say it was a pure blood North Indian preparation, but a very decent take on it. It tasted well if not very authentic North Indian. "Methi Makhai Palak" had pearls of corn pellets cooked in delicious palak gravy. "Dum Aloo Jaipuri" was decent. "Poori and "Channa Masala" was a great combo. The poori were made of wheat . The food was quite delicious and crave worthy. "Dal Maharaja" was decent too. Made with a local influence but tasted good. "Nawabi Tarkari Biryani" and roti items were well made. And went very well with gravy items. "Thai Veg Noodles" and "Thai Green Curry" was decent combination as well. although it is not one of my personal favourite but it tasted good especially the noodle was very nice. They also had plain rice and Rasam to end you meal. 🍧🍧 the desert section was quite extensive and of the desert that was there was very well made and very delicious. I almost liked all of the deserts. "Anjeer Halwa" or fig halwa was very rich and delicious. I took two helping and on second one I realised I was too full. But it was tempting that much for the greed. "Malpuva with Rabri" was also quote nicely made. Malpuva was bit more sugary, otherwise tasted good. Rabri was little watery. And could have been bit thicker but taste was good nevertheless. "Motipak" and "Horlicks Burfi" were interesting and nice. "Walnut Brownie", "Fruit Tart", "Dates & Coconut Pudding", "Praline Pastry" were in Pastry and cake section. Each of these items were well made and delicious. Especially the praline pastry and fruit tart. They also had good variety of mocktail outside buffet package, which were very nicely made. Please do mention about the sweetness desired so that you get the best experience. Well to summarise, each of the food items were very nice. Especially the dessert section was really mind blowing. And it really gave us a happy and delightful ending to out gastronomical sojourn. Thanks to management for the kind invite and letting us enjoy the good food and wonderful Ambience. The table staff were quite attentive and we got a good food experience. Special thanks to owner who was very humble and down to earth and took his time out for interaction and walk through about the dream, vision and his journey. Thanks again!
Good to visit this veg restaurant with family. A small place but good ambience. Wide spread of tasty dishes with 3 live counters. They have valet parking.
