This al-fresco-styled poolside bar and grill is a great place for open air dining and one that offers pretty views of the city. With delectable tandoori-style (cooked in a traditional clay oven) to spicy South-Indian entrées on offer, it is just the right place for a post-work dinner night with friends, or a romantic meal under the stars. While here, try the malai broccoli, dahi ke kabab that is an interesting mix of hung curd, the chapli kabab and tandoori lobster among the appetisers. There is also a host of clay pot curries on offer that includes Laotian curry (which consists of long beans and shitake), vegetarian massaman curry, Burmese chicken curry, pineapple curry with prawns and lychees, Javanese duck curry and others. In drinks, they have a good collection of wines and champagne, along with non-alcoholic mocktails.
I remember ordering LIIT and screw driver among many of the cocktail ordered on that day. One of their employee Arnab really made nice cocktails and it was decorated impeccably in cocktail glass!
We were on a business trip and all 5 of us were staying at the Zuri and decided to try out the Pan Asian restaurant on the roof top Terrace. The only problem was that when we pushed “T” on the elevator it did not light up. I went and asked the front desk clerk and she indicated that the Pan Asian restaurant was undergoing renovations but that we could eat at the Infinity restaurant by the pool and order from the Pan Asian menu. Apparently the Infinity menu is just Indian food. This sounded like a good option so we headed to the second floor. The ambience was really nice and we had high hopes. However, our waiter was confused when requested the Pan Asian menu but ultimately got it for us. One colleague ordered from the Indian menu and it was good. We ordered two orders of fried spring rolls from the Pan Asian menu - which I normally love, but they tasted like average egg rolls. I didn’t even finish the one I got. I loved the Tom Kha soup that I ordered (one of my regular “go to’s”) but it contained an incredibly hot chile pepper that I bit into and just about died. It felt like my throat and mouth were on fire. After I was choking for a while, my colleague asked for some milk to help counteract the chemicals. At first the waiter brought a creamer (no glass). We reiterated that we were looking for a glass of milk. This finally arrived but the milk was room temperature. I drank most of it anyway. I’m not sure if the milk helped or if the pain just wore off. Note to self — check the soup for red Chile peppers before eating and remove it! We also ordered steamed chicken dim sum which was really tasty. I also enjoyed my Watermelon Martini. In the end, I received 3 separate bills since we had ordered from the Indian restaurant, the Pan Asian restaurant, and from the bar. This method of three bills is not very customer friendly for business travelers as it makes your expense report even worse. There were also several miscommunications with the waiter - as he didn’t know we could order from the Pan Asian menu, he skipped taking one of our colleagues orders (so we had to track down the waiter to ask him to add another order), and the milk episode described above, plus our cocktails, food and then the bill took a long time to get. It probably took us at least 2.5 hours for our party of 5 to eat here. Do not go here if you’re in a rush.
