Many a deal has been closed at the Jamavar – that is what the power of good food can hold for you. Jamavar has been offering some great Indian food for several years now. Several chefs have trained and moved on to become sensations in their own their own right. Through it all, Jamavar holds on tight to its legacy of making great food. The food here covers large parts of India and the showcase is lovely. Start with some 'Yetti Saaru' - garlic, coriander and prawn soup. Or you could try the 'Attukal Soup', simply because you rarely see shorba, trotters and all in a 5-star setting. The 'Bharwan Aloo Tikki with Green Pea Masala, the Corn Bezule and the Cauliflower Kempu Bezule' are lovely choices. The 'Kakinada Royala Vepudu' (Stir-fried prawns) and the 'Macchi Amritsari' in the lovely yellow masala of gram flour and red chilli lemon are great choices too. Moving on to main courses, you have the 'Nawabi Kofta' that pairs well with 'Bharwan Kulcha' and the 'Baingan Bharta' that I can eat without anything on the side thanks to its smokiness. The 'Jheenga Dhania Tamatar' is great and if for a taste of Kerala, do try the 'Alleppey Fish Curry'. The 'Nihari' here is made with love and you do not want to leave without doing the 'Dal Jamavar'. I love the fact that the range of biryanis here is tempting. The 'Kozhi Biryani', the 'Awadhi' and even the 'Erachi Biryani'. And, read through the desserts because you do not want to miss them too.

Though the menu is focused on cuisines from both northern and southern India, the dishes from south steals the spotlight. For appetizers try out mutton raan, malai tikka, broccoli with cheese, murg chap, chicken reshami kebab, dahi ke kebab, galouti kebab, seekh kebab, paneer tikka sunehri, karari aloo papadi chaat, fish tikka, lamb chops and chicken tikka. The mains menu reflects dal jamavar, paneer spring onion, sindhi mutton curry, malai kofta, murg tawa masala, butter chicken, red thai curry with rice, chicken pasta, chicken chettinad, nasi goreng and paneer makhanwala. The rice lovers can enjoy dum ki biryani or mutton biryani. Order some indian breads to soak up the spicy curries like masala kulcha, hoppers, laccha paratha, naan or missi roti. The Mughlai food is out of this world too. The food at Jamavar is not too greasy or heavy and is enjoyed heartily by locals and tourists alike.
