  • Though the restaurant is called Alba, do not expect to find the food of that region well represented on the menu. This is a Pan-Italian restaurant
  • The Chef is from Genoa and is relatively new at the restaurant. Give him time and I imagine he will put pesto and other Ligurian favourites on the menu. Meanwhile, try the excellent osso buco
  • Bengaluru is fond of its local wines. But Alba has an interesting selection of Italian wines and the managers are knowledgeable and efficient

The Italian restaurant at the JW Marriott Hotel is cleverly designed so that many tables give you a sense of space and isolation. Romantic couples need not worry about being stared at and businessmen do not have to worry about their conversations being overheard. The menu is pretty much your standard hotel Italian with the usual pastas. But there are some interesting main courses, and it is clear that the chef takes his food seriously. Ask to see him and he will suggest main courses that are not on the menu and allow him to show off his considerable skills.
