This is easily Bengaluru’s best buffet lunch and small wonder that it gets packed out almost from the moment it opens with corporate diners, ladies who lunch, and hotel guests. It is so vast that it is impossible for me to list everything that is on offer, but I would urge you to try the Western section, where the food is easily the equal of anything you will find in any of Bengaluru’s more expensive speciality restaurants. Nothing is bad and the only criticism I have ever had is that the food at the chaat counter (made live in front of guests) could have been slightly better. There is a nice outdoor area and the emphasis on live cooking means you get the best of both worlds – the range of a buffet and the freshness of food cooked a la minute.
Bengaluru has its fair share of luxury hotels, which in turn opens a lot of doors for all-day dining restaurants generally tucked into the lobbies. Demand for all-day dining places is always high as they suit the odd timings of the city-dwellers perfectly and also present them with a lavish menu that trots all over the globe. Counted as one of the best is ‘JW Kitchen’ of JW Marriott Hotel on Lavelle Road, Bengaluru. The restaurant is a hot favourite of the local corporates, in-house guests and brunch loving ladies. As it remains open 24X7, suits busy on laptops or deep in a meeting is a common sight here. Sit in the cool air-conditioned plush dining room and listen to soothing live music before starting your evening. At JW Kitchen you are guaranteed to have a lovely evening basking in luxury and elegance.
The wonderful menu and service of JW Kitchen is what makes the restaurant so well-known with the locals. The diners enjoy a generously vast global menu entailing North Indian, Continental and Italian cuisines. If weather is behaving well then ask to be seated in their outdoor area. Sip on a glass of wine or whatever gives you the buzz to kick-start the evening. Feast on, gosht seekh kebab, Greek salad, hot barbecued chicken wings, paneer tikka, sarson mahi tikka, crispy spring roll, Thai tom kha, murgh malai kebab, roasted tomato soup and teriyaki chicken leek skewers. Second course entices you with, Mumbai masala sandwich, breaded fish & chips, pizza pepperoni, goan prawn curry, kung pao chicken, makkai saag, pan fried sea bass, nasi goreng, pasta, bisi bele bath, sage roasted chicken and the fat chicken burger.
Finally bring this lovely evening to its rightful end through the splendid desserts. Dig into, gulab jamun, Belgian chocolate mousse, kesari rasmalai, baked blueberry cheese cake, payasam, warm apple tart and vanilla bean crème brulee. Dining at JW Kitchen is an expensive affair so keep that in mind. You will find their buffets much more reasonable. Sprawled in a brightly lit spacious area, JW Kitchen is elegance incarnate. Comfortable smart nooks are created all over the restaurant, so find a spot that suits you and relax. The open kitchen and a stunning wine library behind the bar catches your eyes instantly. The vibe is quite nice here. An ideal dining space in every sense.
