The rather pleasing Bengali restaurant in the city is here to stay not only because it is economical but it also has some great food on offer. It is more on the lines of a bistro and the food arrives real quick, no matter how busy and bustling the atmosphere is. Special mention for the staff who is always very curious to set things right for you. The menu is a good mix of appetizers and mains and then you have those street style snacking options as well. The 'Chicken Kathi Kebab Rolls' are really nice and filled with succulent Chicken, very close to what you get in Kolkata. The major talking point, however, is the seafood and fresh catch of the day that is either Roasted or Pan fried. Try the ‘Kolkata style Rawas’ that is marinated in mustard and cooked in Mustard oil with some other spices, it is very balanced and has a real mellow mouthfeel. The other good things on the menu include the Fish curries and the ‘China Town style Chicken Curry’ too. They are all really well paired with the 'Kolkata style Biryani', go for the 'Mutton Biryani' is what I suggest, the right amount of spice and some delicious jeera raita alongside. The desserts surely have enough choice and you can either get the classics or few of the others which are not Bengali. It is ideal you reach here either before lunch time or a little post lunch time, because the restaurant is always full and you will surely need to reserve your table in advance.
