The Salt Grill at the Hilton Embassy Golf Links is set by the pool and serves only dinner. And, rightly so. The ambience in the evenings is brilliant – open to the skies, quite literally no sound of the blaring traffic that is a few 100 metres away, the blue-lit pool and bar counter and an open kitchen as well. Start with the unique take that the chef has on the 'Caprese Salad' – you have tomato caviar that replaces the usual slices and some very fresh buffalo mozzarella. The 'Deconstructed Greek Salad' allows you to put it together with the way you would like to. The 'Salmon Tikka' has Norwegian Salmon steaks with a touch of mascarpone cheese and beetroot puree and can be a real pleaser. If you want something light, the 'Tuna Tartare', served with Walnut Pesto Spaghetti' that is so good and some 'Balsamic Caviar' and 'Quail Eggs' make for a complete meal or a great way to start one. The highlight of Salt Grill is obviously their grills – all of which are served on Himalayan salt slabs to retain the moisture in the meats. The range is extensive – from 'Scallops' to 'Lobster' to 'Duck Confit', 'New Zealand Lamb Chops', 'Pork Belly' and more. What makes them even better is the exotic sauces you can have on the side – think 'Lemon Beurre Blanch', 'Red Wine Jus', 'Pepper Corn Sauce'. There is also a range of sides from and the 'Garlic Mashed Potatoes' with its flecks or roasted garlic is divine. Do not worry about low lighting, here is a place that attaches reading lights to its menu.
