I love the Yellow Submarine – dedicated to all things Beatles (yes the band) this is just the rooftop kind of place that you want to sit back and lounge. In fact, most of my visits here have ended up crossing the 4-hour mark. Let us start with the beers, shall we? On my last visit, they had 5 of them on tap. 'The Porter', 'The Wit', 'The IPA', a 'Kolsch' and the 'Hefeweizen'. Take your pick based on your palate, because I liked them all. The 'Coconuta Women' is a large cocktail which comes with some fancy dry ice around it. It has coconut rum, tender coconut water, melon and cardamom powder and is a lovely drink. Now for the food – start with the 'Crispy Lotus Stem Chips' – these are quite addictive thanks to the sauce they are tossed in. The 'Onion Samosa with Hummus' is a surprisingly good combination. The 'Ghost Chilli Murgh Tikka' is not as spicy as you might think it is, a nicely. If you want some nice and simple old school munchies – then the 'Masala Papad' and the 'Peanut Masala' is what you want to order. For something a bit more substantial and brilliantly done – the 'Char Siu Pork Belly' is what you should go for. The 'Thai Curry' here is made from scratch and is worth every bite you take. For desserts, the indulgent 'Housemade Snicker Bar' and the 'Baked Cheesecake' are both winners.
This is a chillax place for the younger generation. They are mostly to be seen patronizing the place. The food is average though the quantity served was good. The seating arrangement can also be discomforting since the table height is basically that of a coffee table.
This is right in front of IIM Bangalore which is in the south part of city .The place is a rooftop place with nice ambiance. There was a live band performance when we went. There is also one level up in rooftop as well where you can have a peaceful chit chat if you want no noise from your neighbor tables .Beers were good and I have never seen a 24 inch radius, 4 feet diameter margarita pizza in front of me, which we 6 of us finished and it was tasty too. Service is also good. Overall , if you want brewed beer in this part of city then only this option apart from 2 of them in J.P. Nagar.
Great place on Friday nights with live band Saturday is good with DJ Good food , good ambience Service could be much better
A great hangout spot where the décor is themed to give you the vibes as if you are chugging their brewed beers on the sea, in a submarine. Starting from the elevator that leads up to the place to the entrance, The Yellow Submarine boasts an amazing thematic décor. Salad Cubed Watermelon – If you want to try watermelon with a twist, you must try this salad. The gochujang vinaigrette sauce that coats the watermelon is mildly tangy. The feta cream, grilled corn and mint are delightful add-ons to the salad. Appetizers Samosa Hummus – Well, beetroot hummus served with onion samosas is nothing less than a treat. Liked it how they paired the samosas with the delicious beetroot hummus. The presentation of this dish makes it look even more tempting. Lotus Stem Chips – This was the first time I was trying lotus stem chips and I must say that these were fantastic. The thinly sliced chips were crispy, fried till golden brown was spicy as it was tossed in chilly, coriander and plum. The perfect appetizer to munch on as you enjoy a chilled glass of beer. Shiitake Mushroom- Another stunner of an appetizer. Mushrooms with a twist – these are crispy and slightly high on the spiciness level. The green chilly sauce in which the mushrooms are tossed is not for the weak-hearted. Pizza 24” Monster Pizza (Original Veggie) – A pizza so big that it is bound to blow your mind away. If you are in a large group, this would be a great choice. They also give you the option of going for different toppings in the pizza, so it’s more like a win-win. If you want to try both vegetarian and non-vegetarian toppings at the same time, this 24” one is what you need to order. Indian Dal Makhani with Garlic Naan – That favourite combination that I order blindly in almost every place that I visit. The lentils were cooked well with a generous heap of butter to enhance its overall flavour. Garlic Naan served hot couldn’t be any better to polish that lip-smacking Dal Makhani. The rooftop brewery has a certain vibe to it. And to try the cocktails there is just heavenly. Some of the cocktails that I liked at this place are Coconuta Woman (that Cabo coconut rum and coconut water are a blissful combination) and Chocmerged (it had my favourite – Bailey’s Irish Cream and chocolate syrup with a faint flavour of orange peel). The service is prompt enough to make you have the plan to visit this place again. During day time the place might get a little hot, however, as the sun sets, the breeze on the top deck will surely make the evening lit.
The place is on the top floor of a building right opposite the IIMB so useful for faculty and students. The food is good - it all looks nice and I had alou chat masala which was fiery hot. It is a micro brewery, so they only have their own beers, apparently brewed 'sur place'. I tried some of the beers (3 different ones) and honestly I don't think they are there yet... On a steamy hot nice, nothing is better than a crisp light beer, and their's are heavy and yeasty and not what I was looking for, plus on the two occasions I had a drink here, I had a dodgy stomach afterwards .. coincidence? Maybe. It's a typic ally trendy Bangalore nightspot with some good music and a huge screen showing the ubiquitous cricket, but the drawback for me is the beer is not to my liking.
Don’t let a low budget stop you from having a good time for a Special Occasion. If you are short on funds and still want to take your date to some place nice then try Yellow Submarine, a great low-key eatery with cool submarine-inspired décor and a yummy crowd-pleasing menu. On a pleasant evening sit in their outdoor section and enjoy a wide selection of eclectic nibbles, especially housemade Snicker Bar. Yellow Submarine is a fairly new entrant on Bengaluru’s casual dining scene and is a good place to dine if you have limited pockets. A peppy cheerful eatery for a cozy twosome.
