Toscano is a name that has carved a niche for itself with the people of the city. The Jayanagar outlet is perhaps the only standalone, outside of malls. Settle at one of the tables on the ground floor or deep-set sofas on the first floor. This area overlooks a series of handwritten and decorated blackboards which make for interesting reading. Try the 'Pumpkin Soup', it is really comforting. The 'Fettuccine Con Pollo' is a lovely chicken pasta and comes in a sizable portion. The 'Ravioli Di Pollo' is quite rich and will make for a slow meal. The wood fire pizzas are quite homely and the classic Margherita is unbeatable. The 'Seafood Linguine' is quite the surprise package and is something I have ordered multiple times over. And, do not forget to end on the house special 'Crepe Suzette' that is exceptionally good. That is something coming from a non-dessert person like me.
The name Toscano is taken seriously everywhere in Bengaluru when referred to Italian cooking. The outlet in Jayanagar is a great hub for foodies and families, who come in to sample Toscano’s excellent authentic Italian cooking. Vibe is serene and relaxing here. Small square tables are dotted all over the place for couples for a Special Occasion so that they can talk in peace privately. During the summers Toscano organizes Italian cooking classes, if you are interested to try it out with your date. They don’t serve alcohol, otherwise Toscano is a good choice to dine for a casual date. Prices are a tad high.
